If you use a creditcard the funds be put on hold. If you use paypal you will be charged right away.

They posted somewhere before for cards you get a hold of the amount. For debit/paypal the entire amount is charged.

For Paypal right away, for credit cards just a pre-authorization, so the funds must be available.

That's one reason why I'm skipping the pre-order, I don't have 899€ on my credit card right now and I don't want to use a debit card tied to my bank account with a probably laggy payment process, risking multiple holds of 899€ a piece (it happened with Rift except they were something like 1&#8364.

Looks like store pages for some things are going up on Steam. Vive it self isn't active yet, but looks like you might be able to buy it there as well perhaps, or it redirects to HTC

I hope if it is an option then it is an option straight away, I'd rather buy through Steam (and expect Valve's systems to hold up better under load. Plus I had a good experience ordering the Steam controller from them, so..

Depends if you are in the EU or not. In the EU you first pay it with Paypal, then if you cancel it, they have to give you the money back.

Or even if you dont like the device, you can send it back after 14 days and get the money back.

I think my urge to preorder this is mostly just being impatient for VR. I already have a Rift at an early april number, and I can always buy this later if I want it.

So I just have to stay strong through the hype I guess.

Yeah. Tilt brush is the one thing I really wanted and they recently announced that is included.

But man, with a video card upgrade needed I think I will need to pass on this. I also am not sold on the controllers in the long run with the touch pad (have a Steam controller).

Will be nice to see where people stand months after launch with them.

Have a Rift coming in first batch and will get Touch too, so I'm in on the first wave, just not "all in".
