I think Kurapika has some appeal but yea he just doesn't have the same draw as Gon and Killua. On top of that the difference in content in each set of 10 chapters might cause some disappointment. Comparing the last 2 sets of chapters, in the first we had the long awaited fight between Hisoka and Chrollo and in the second set we have political intrigue with talking. While the intrigue is interesting, I'm not sure how well an OVA with just talking and comparatively little action would be received. I do really want to see the Hisoka x Chrollo fight animated though. Even if it's just the fight and nothing else gets adapted, I'd be happy.

Hopefully we'll get to see Gon and Gyro meet in the next 10 years lol. Gyro is going to be a real problem. The way he was setup was extremely ominous.

Not only did he have all his memories but I believe because the strength of his will he was able to break the Queen's control over him seemingly right after he was reborn. I don't believe any other ant was able to do that.

Having so much willpower will probably lead to Gyro having terrifyingly strong Nen.

We won't he meet for another decade at least, if at all but he sounds like an incredibly terrible person. He's got his reasons but the dude just seems all around evil and the fact he's supposed to have a fated meeting with Gon is some scary shit considering what Gon is capable of.

The first time I saw it I had no idea the whole last half of that arc took place within like 90 minutes. You pretty much have to compress time a bit...a lot to actually get a digestible pacing out of it.

I chuckled when Zeno was telling Silva how he had his time compressed after leaving the palace. That was a constant through the Chimera Ant arc.

Yeah, I don't think the invasion would have worked without the time compression. I also liked it, because it really drove home how superhuman the cast is. They were able to move and think at an incredibly fast rate. It made the feats feel more genuine. I honestly wish other battle shonen did this more. Namek could have used some time compression for example, haha.

I didn't really feel it though, even in the manga where the execution and pacing are far better. I think I just needed a clock running for Namek's detonation in the manga, like they had for the Palace Invasion. It's such a small caveat, but I think it added so much to the encounters in HxH.

Like thirty eps happened in that five minutes it took for Namek to explode. The only problem is that there's no story really happening in that amount of time. Chimera Arc is packed with story and tension and shit actually happening.

I was rewatching random episodes of MST3K recently and this is what popped into my head when I thought of the destruction of Namek. I found it comedic rather than dramatic, like the invasion scene in HxH, just because the explosion was constantly brought up but never happened.

I had a friend who said he was not that impressed with the Chimera Arc and always acted like it was just ok.

But he couldn't hide his emotions with this chapter, it broke him.

And then he cried like a bitch when the arc ended.

God I cried so hard at the end of the ant arc. My girlfriend and I just sat on the couch and sobbed for a while after that last Komugi x Meruem scene.

It didn't hit me quite as hard in the manga, but the anime absolutely nailed that scene.

Me neither. I actually liked Pitou. Seeing her getting demolished hurt. It was cool...briefly, then the weight of the whole thing hits you and by the time you see Gon just Jankaning the shit out of her face till she's decapitated is just crushing.

I was recently binging HxH till I got to 131. Once that shit finished I took a sabbatical, not to mention I have to eventually watch the arc end, I just can't it's just going to hurt. You know what...I think that ep just crushes me emotionally. From the music to the visuals I can't even make it through the this youtube vid without tearing up. I think the first time I watched it I just mirrored that white dude stunned in silence. "Gon...what the fuck is wrong with you?" Yup...that's a very realistic response to Gon. And I'm crying again...ugh...this is why I took a long ass break from the show...fuck.

Haha, I think that's why I don't really adhere to any specific avatar gimmick. I just use whatever fits my current mood, at-least until HxH returns. Then I'm going back to that Mafioso Kurapika avy lol.

Hopefully the artist does some more mashups. Palm dressed up as Videl or 18 would look cool. Bisky as Kale would be awesome too :)

You can always teach yourself how to draw and then you'll get to have whatever fan art you can imagine!
Honestly speaking though I have considered doing that.
