Interesting. So we aren't sure that your mom is or isn't adopted but at the same time she can realistically have brown eyes even if both her parents were blue eyed.

Pretty sure genetics allows for blue eyed people to have a child with brown eyes. From what I recall, there are more genes influencing the color of the iris and they can vary in dominance. Simple high school biology is only meant to get a grip on the basics of genetics, not to make huge assumptions about family trees.
