Game journos desperately trying to pump up veilguard.

It is a half decent game outside of the bizarre choice to make some awkward trans statement. I don't think it should have made the list though because the choices were mostly meaningless and that caused me not give a fuck half way through the game. With this being a very high production value game, they should have put the effort into making choices matter. Or maybe it was just because it was too fucking long.

Veilgaurd was not what I wanted for DA. I wanted a true RPG like Origins and they just made it an action game.

Think we all know that negativity towards Veilguard isn't about the gameplay. It is primarily about the over the top trans messaging that's in the game that has turned a lot of folks against it.

No? Biggest disclaimer that I haven't played the game myself, I only watched SkillUp's almost hour long video on it - and it is allegedly written boring and clean, employs an awkward visual style for character design, and is populated with extremely spongy enemies, and that's why it's bad.

From all the reviews and gameplay Ive seen, it looks like a horrible written action game, not an rpg, your choices barely matter, enemies are horrible sponges, cant control companions, companions cannot die etc..

What is so good about it?

You know what's most interesting, I've read what they wrote several times. I don't see anywhere a mention that the votes of those who voted will be taken into account in any way (So be sure to vote in our polls and make your voice heard.). That is, as I understand it, they still reserve the right to choose the winner for themselves. How to increase website traffic and ad views by simply posting a poll that does not affect the outcome. Both Persona 3 Reload and SMTV Vengeance are re-releases from already existing game, I highly enjoy them but I personally wouldn’t put them as GOTY.

For me personally Unicorn Overlord is my GOTY.
