They have finished the main story for part III, voice recording starting soon.
2027 marks the 30th anniversary for the OG release, would be a great timing.
On X/Twitter, user @aitaikimochi posted information found in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania book. It apparently reveals that the main story for part 3 of Final Fantasy VII Remake is finished, and Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura aims to start voice recording "shortly."
Interestingly, @aitaikimochi also flagged that the book revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase hopes that Part 3 will ship in three years. "Kitase mentions FF7 Rebirth was done within three years since about one year was developing the DLC," @aitaikimochi wrote. "[A]nd he hopes to be able to stick with that schedule for Part 3 too."
If the development team manages to ship out Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 in three years, it will set the release window for 2027. This would be impeccable timing for the third and final part of remaking the iconic PlayStation title, primarily because 2027 will mark 30 years since the original Final Fantasy VII was released.
