Infinity Nikki | Review Thread

Not saying that it couldn't run better. I'm saying that a common impression that a game isn't "graphically intensive" because it's pink and smooth and doesn't move with twitch-action quickness is nonsense.
I don’t know about it. Just saying that video in PS channel is false advertising. Even if the game is F2P, they sold a preorder version.

Mobile vs PC/Console version:

Oof, there's a big distinction between mobile/ipad with PS5 and PC. Geometry may look all the same but the loss of detail is astonishing that I wouldn't recommend playing on lower spec devices if you can.

Well, that's about what I wrote, the game has a very high level of detail in the environment. That's why I think the target platforms for the game were PS5 and PС, this game was ported to mobile devices and tablets based on the principle - "Turn off all detail until it somehow works decently on phones." People also wrote here that "Well, it works on phones", it works on phones with such sacrifices, in fact, on minimum settings with the world detail turned off, roughly speaking, you turn on the PS5 or PC settings on phones, I think absolutely any phone that is currently on the market will die.

Damn, this game is huge. I thought I had explored everything and then suddenly a new huge area opened up for me and I just now realized what I had been exploring is actually maybe 20% of the whole map. 😮
The map is huge, fast travel, and the use of bicycles is practically mandatory. This is by the way without taking into account dungeons and caves, which are not displayed on the map, they are simply marked with an entrance icon.

I've read all the comments in this thread and I have the game installed on my base Gacha Station 5, but I'm currently knee deep in Wuthering Waves and also 2 other gachas on the side, so I don't have the time to play this one yet. I'll get to it eventually, and hopefully by the time that happens they'll also patch in a 60 fps mode, at least for the Pro.

Coming soon, get ready to download it too :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I stopped playing it on PC, waiting for the release on PS5. Until it comes out, Honkai Star Rail and Nikki are enough for me =)

Yeah, I couldn't wait any longer since they recently confirmed that the PS5 version will have cross-save with PC and mobile when it launches, so I just started playing it on PC last week to get a head start, lol.

But I totally get the sentiment about playing too many gachas, as I'm currently juggling a few too many of them myself (WuWa and ZZZ as my mains, while HSR and Heaven Burns Red are on the side). That's why I'm saving Infinity Nikki for later.

So let the forty year old man speak. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Hey I'm not quite there yet...
That's why it seems to me that the audience for this game is 14+, it will be difficult for children.
Yea my daughter isn't that old and I tend to agree. The trailer makes you think it's a game for girls of any age. Laid back, dress up fun fest but that's not the game at all. Anyway she'll play until she's bored and move on. It's the right price for that.

This is a Gacha game, there is no point in being patient. All characters sooner or later become obsolete in terms of meta, so it doesn't matter when you enter the game. I would even say the later you enter the game, the better, because you immediately get to banners with meta characters, and you miss characters that are already out of meta.
I stopped playing ZZZ, to be honest the game loop is just awful, the combat system is extremely bad and much worse than the same WuWa, I tried Heaven Burns Red but it was a waste of time I would recommend looking at Blue Reflection from Gust, everything is the same, but much better without Gacha, there is also a sequel Blue Reflection: Second Light.

I can say with 200% certainty that a child under 14 in this game is unlikely to cope without the help of parents. But if you play together, in fact, it is a good option for joint accompaniment and you can prepare the child for more adult games. And so yes, according to the videos, this game looks like something pink and simple, but when you get into the game and look at all these functions, craft, exploration of the world and puzzles (several of which I failed several times), you come to the understanding that the videos are a little misleading =)))

Nikki is different though. There are no "characters", only outfits. None of them give you any sort of advantage as all skills you need you will get by just playing the story.

Yes, Gatcha in this game a purely cosmetic version, plus it saves time. All costumes with Gatcha come already crafted + this gives you the opportunity to get 4-5 star costumes without crafting, and thus speed up some of the content. That's why I'm doubly interested in this game in terms of Gatcha, how it will show itself, considering that this is a Gatcha game without banners with characters.

This game is gorgeous.
I completely agree, and the screenshots don’t convey it very well, in dynamics with particle effects it looks even juicier.
I really liked this scene, this is a plot spoiler so I will hide it, watch at your own discretion - Flight on a large Paper Crane

I loved this section when I played it too. The song that plays here is really catchy and cought me off guard.

Can't believe I'm doing this..

Better get those matching looks mah dude. I'll challenge you for a fashion duel any time of the day.

The game is cool and cozy enough for you enjoy it for what it is, and it is free. Idk how long I'll stick to the game as I am always a story/lore/worldbuilding type of guy, if the world and story is interesting enough I'll keep on playing.

The visuals are gorgeous and the 30fps honestly didn't really bother me in such a game. But the gatcha elements are in your face way too quickly for my liking.
Gacha is not very strong, unless you go to the store of course. And here, unlike other Gacha games, it plays (for now) a very mediocre role, in fact, it is only cosmetics, well, and some costumes change animations of skills (the same as in POE), but you get all the skills for completing the game and they do not depend on Gacha. Although of course I play a lot of other Gachas, but so far I have not seen anything that would stand out beyond the bounds of decency among these games.

This has been my experience with most Gacha from mihoyo honestly. HSR was probably the worst because the story bosses could actually be really hard without the right team.

After a couple of hours in, I find the game to be..good? Gameplay mechanic feels easy to control and the game really looks beautiful even on my old PC. I can't believe I even spent time trying to dress up Nikki, its ridiculous. Probably because the game allows me to customize Nikki's dress and looks from something as small as a hair clip to her shoes and even socks is what made the game..appealing? I can truly make Nikki dress up the way I want her to be and can't think any other game that can reach that level of detail. I'm beginning to question my manhood.

As for characters, as I only met up to the magician dude before I stop playing, and before that, Dada. Not much to say but glad they are not cringe like the Dragon Age Veilguard clowns.

Momo is a great buddy and actually is adorable.

I did encounter plenty of stuttering but maybe its due to my old PC, and there were some server issues too where I though the game almost booted me out from the game. They really need to fix that.

The big turn of to me was, as expected, the gacha system introduce early on. The monetization could have been introduce a little bit later after getting used to the crafting.

There is no pressure here, there are not even Tier Lists and Meta. Therefore, this problem is absent here as a fact.
Have you heard of a little game called Sims?
No, that's not it at all, The Sims is a life simulator, where you manage the lives of characters without the ability to directly control them, plus the clothes are purely decorative, you can leave them alone. Here the game comes directly from the character, clothes are of great importance from the point of view of gameplay (Each outfit actually opens up some specific activity for you, or allows you to participate in certain duels). Plus, it's still an adventure game with a huge open world, in The Sims you are locked in box locations =)

I play with PS5, and unfortunately I can't give advice on technical issues on PC, but in general the game is quite demanding in terms of hardware, especially if you set everything to maximum (This is actually one of the reasons why they had to lower the graphics on phones to the minimum settings). The problem with the Servers, yes, there is an influx of players, it turned out to be too big, now some of the servers are stalling, although on PS5 I am already better experience than on the first day, today I played on average with a ping of 45-70, on the first day my ping was consistently in the yellow zone of 80-120.

Well, as for Gatcha, unfortunately, there's no getting around it, the game is free and they need to earn money somehow. Although I agree, I would first give the player the opportunity to craft 2-3 costumes, to explain the crafting mechanics in the game, and only then connect Gatcha.

You want it to be exactly like this game?

Let me introduce you to FF X-2 and FFXIII-LR which I love.

A new trailer has been released that shows and tells about the world.
This may be a spoiler for new zones that will be added to the game with new updates.
