Saw this over at the Verge. They did an article about the underground Lamborghini culture in Japan. Some crazy shit.

The Verge article is worth checking out too. Has a cool mini documentary and more custom cars.

The flashing lights and underglow are dumb looking, but I do kind of like that paint job itself (not that I would ever choose that).

Is this "underground hero" documentary real or what? There's a message about it being based on 'real persons' at the start. I guess it's fake? I mean why would those yakuza guys show their faces like this? But if it's fake, how could they get access to those super pimped out cars and bikes on a limited 7 minutes short budget?

It's well made.

Yakuza love attention(unless its for their crimes I guess), I met a former Yakuza boss when living in japan and he wanted me to write his biography(I'm not a writer lol) because he thought I'd do a more honest job than Yakuza-hating japanese. Actually, most regular yakuza I've met are really emotional people seeing themselves as chivalrous and misunderstood by society. On the last day before I went home after staying at his house we were drinking sake together and he got very emotional, crying most of the time(this guy was almost 50).
I'm not condoning their criminal activities, but it helps to see them as real people and not evil criminals.

Thes guys feel more like a japanese biker gang(another sub culture) than pure yakuza though.

Yakuza defence force. No surprise here gaf, no surprise.

Gimme the paint job without the strobes and flashing lights and we're in business.

And I suppose I'm gonna need the Lambo as well because I'll never be able to afford one.

That's nice, thanks for sharing your story.

really?

EDIT:
Well, I guess it kinda comes off as that.
Much if not most of the Yakuza hate is completely justified. There's no place for criminal organizations like that in these modern times. Doesn't mean the actual men and women in these organizations are evil without any redeemable qualities.
