They said they’re changing it up this time because the Far Cry 3 formula ran its course. Interest in FC7 will be higher than the past few games for that reason alone.
Full believe it when I see it mode but hope it’s true.

Far Cry 7
We already got the box art and the villain unveiling
Yeah I hate timers in games. That alone will stop my purchase.I like playing Far Cry but that timer already annoys me.
I loved Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. I could spend hours taking in the wildlife and countryside. I really enjoyed the hunting side of the game as well.I really liked Far Cry 5. That soundtrack was godtier.
This cannot be overstated; FC5 has such a banger soundtrack! Here's some of my favorite songs from the OST for anyone randomly reading this thread:I really liked Far Cry 5. That soundtrack was godtier.
I replayed Far Cry 2 last year, and I don't think that game holds up very well at all. It does some stuff well (the general atmosphere, environment sounds, and visuals of being in Africa, no hud, fire propagation, enemies' reactions), especially for the time, but at the end of the day, actually playing it felt like a slog, the voice-acting is super weird and flat, the story is boring, and the encounters are tedious.Go more far cry 2... but that won't happen. "Sons of Truth" name already gives me the ick
African setting was the best thing about FC2. I wish they remade that game so I'd have a reason to play it again.Location/setting/theme is everything in these games.
Please go back to Africa, and make it gritty as fuck, just like FC2.
It’s probably the best soundtrack ever madeI really liked Far Cry 5. That soundtrack was godtier.
The instant respawn of outposts ruined that game for me.I replayed Far Cry 2 last year, and I don't think that game holds up very well at all. I don't know how to start this discussion, I have been wanted to put together a thread on this for a while actually. I'll start by simply saying I was fucking blown away by the effort Dan Romer put into it. He didn't just score the game, he created AN ENTIRE WORLD of music. And it seems like he didn't get enough credit for how incredible it is. To me it's the best modern videogame soundtrack ever created.
He made full albums of game music, choir music, and catchy open mic country pop versions of the songs, and they all are bangers that soon will be on your spotify or whatever you use. I use youtube premium combined with google play music, split with my brothers the deal is insane, check it out fer sure.
I'll pick 2 highlights from each catagory:
First let's set the mood with the best menu and loading music to have ever graced your city boy ears, and if you are an atheistic city slicker, this will make you want to move to the mountains.
The conventional ambient game music
"Now that the world is ending"
somber, beautiful, endlessly catchy. I drive through the mountains of my hometown Lake Tahoe playing this shit and it is a spiritual experience.
And the second track, "When the morning light Shines in" is more hopeful. If you don't listen till at least 1:20 you personally hurt ma feelins.
The Hope County Choir
Now Dan didn't stop there. He was genuine in his efforts, he needed cult music, and not cheap low rent music. Honest belief music. Shit, I grew up religious and always hated our churches hyms. If we had this kind of music I would have staved off pornography till maybe 13
Good lord this is the best music. GOOD LORD this game doesn't deserve such bangers as this. Here is another that will stick in your head.
Now for the open mic country bar version, or closer to studio versions I guess.
"Help me Faith" again but with a twist
and here is a version of "oh the bliss" which is incredible.
Feel free to add in your personal favorites, I didn't included them all since there are so many.

The ambient tracks coupled with the tranquil loading screens were great as well. The whole package was top notch imo.
no idea what you guys are hearing. stuff like this is so much better:It’s probably the best soundtrack ever made

SotN wandering ghosts
dkc2 stickerbrush symphony
batman streets of desolation
dark souls character creation music
I just finished Far Cry 5 this past weekend. I basically forced myself to finish it. I almost made an LTTP calling it Wasted Potential. You're right, the soundtrack is fantastic, but the game is kind of a mess. It feels like so much of it is driven by AI. Especially the encounter/spawn frequency. Definitely the worst one, in my opinion, despite the great location and interesting concept.I really liked Far Cry 5. That soundtrack was godtier.
yep. i fucking hate timers (except, of course, for majora's mask!). c'mon, ubi, just let us rescue the family at our own pace if we prefer, & save the timers for bonus mode rewards...I like playing Far Cry but that timer already annoys me.
It sounds like their going for a Death Loop/Hades/Returnal style of gameplay.yep. i fucking hate timers (except, of course, for majora's mask!). c'mon, ubi, just let us rescue the family at our own pace if we prefer, & save the timers for bonus mode rewards...
yeah, i agree, but taking an established 'open-world sandbox' franchise, & transforming it to that extent? better they went with either a spin-off or a new franchise. they're introducing a clock into a franchise that's always encouraged exploration. it's basically counter-intuitive...It sounds like their going for a Death Loop/Hades/Returnal style of gameplay.
End of an era.
Here’s a thread I made about FC5 music a bit ago.
Same, i want to give it another chance because i've heard MM is pretty good.Yuck, I hate timers. Ruined the dead rising series & I could never get into Majora's mask either.

It absolutely deserves to be in the discussion as one of the best ever made. The way the entire soundtrack (even lyrics) support whats going on the game is absolutely excellent work. They were not just "bangers." I can't believe he hasn't been asked to do another soundtrack (though he may be very busy looking at his Wiki). All bangers of course. But Dan Romer's video game country inspired tracks were a revelation, a new genre discovered. I hate country and christian songs and these hit me so deep. What Dan Romer did is more impressive and harder to pull pff than some more fantasy opera or electronic synth hits.
LOL. Yeah, there is that. I was able to work past that and just enjoy that soundtrack and concept in spite of those glaring flaws. Either way...that Soundtrack is absolutely S-tier in gaming and doesn't get the recognition it deserves because its caught in a Far Cry game.I just finished Far Cry 5 this past weekend. I basically forced myself to finish it. I almost made an LTTP calling it Wasted Potential. You're right, the soundtrack is fantastic, but the game is kind of a mess. People like to bring this up but I didn't notice or care about it one bit.The instant respawn of outposts ruined that game for me.
I thought Far Cry 6 was a good game.
This is now a Far Cry 5 music thread!

Yeah I actually didn't like the game back in the day. But I've watched it since and I like the immersion aspects of it. I would like it to be tried again. The world seemed much more alive.I replayed Far Cry 2 last year, and I don't think that game holds up very well at all.
