Insider Gaming via eXtas1s: Forza Horizon 5 PS5 Release Was Ready But Delayed

Forza Horizon 5 was all set to launch on PlayStation 5 (PS5), but the game’s release on the console was ultimately delayed. That’s according to a new claim by known leaker eXtas1s.

In a post on social media, they said that the release was delayed over the summer, but made sure to clarify that it wasn’t cancelled. It was then said that the belief is that the game would be a success on PS5 and that it’s still in the plans.

“It will arrive,” they said via translation. “I don’t know when, but it will arrive.”

I played a lot of FH4, and less of 5, they are not bad games (the lack of progression sucks though). The Crew Motorfest is by far the superior game in my eyes, just play that, it's on all systems.

For me 4 was my favorite, just liked that British countryside.

5 was alright, but I didn’t like it as much as 3 or 4. It was still a good racer, but most times I would rather just play 4.

I just started playing motorfest and I was wondering which was better when I saw this thread. I am enjoying it

Yeah this reeks of bullshit. It's obviously a pretty good guess for a title they will port over, so I can see how it would be good for a grifter to make shit up about and then when it does release it reinforces their 'insider' status.

Whilst it would be great to see this. I assumed that due to FH5 timed licencing and how old it now is. That we'd get FH6 in the future, rather than 5 ported. So I'm not convinced by this rumour. But who knows, maybe licencing can be changed/extended.

FH3 was my favourite. Then they went off chasing engagement and the game became some kind of bland "fun for everyone" type thing. Some how losing its petrol head heart along the way. Shame. 5 is fine, but the series has gone way off in the wrong direction for me. The weekly tasks/busy work is a chore.

Motorfest is a TEMU knock-off. I couldn't even bring myself to finish up the 5 hour trial.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
1 > 3 > 5 > 2 F&F > 2 > 4

FH3 was also my first so I'm not completely blinded by nostalgia for the series.

1 was a revelation back in the day, it was taking Burnout Paradise and refining it even more. Great OST, fantastic world and some of the best graphics of the X360/PS3 gen.

5 and 4 are very similar but they're both great games IMO. 5 has better presentation and modern console support so it's a better showpiece title.

Also, HARD disagree with Tunned Tunned saying Crew Motorfest is better than the recent FH games.

Same, they kinda did a disservice with that generous 5 hour trial, I reckon a lot of people just played it and didn't bother playing the full game, I know I certainly didn't feel like playing the full game after an hour or two of the trial.

What time is it?

I didn't care much for the map in 4 which 5 corrected. The bigger issue is just the structure getting stale. I really think they'd do themselves well by being more restrictive in car type/power for the first time you clear any given race. Once you get a high end car or two, you can plow through most of the events with engaging with the plethora of cars available to you. Also, racing an airplane or some other over-the-top event just loses its' teeth after so much overexposure and the same can be said for most of the other race types. This all will depend on your tolerance for repetition, but for as much as I adore the series, I don't think I'll buy the next one.

It maybe the pushback a few months back when the strategy leaked? It may have also just made more sense for them to stretch it out and squeeze out another marketing beat out of it. Releasing the game on PS5 next year softens the blow of another key xbox game losing console exclusivity and gives them an ace to shadow drop in 2025.

I don't really buy that it was scheduled but there is absolutely no question that a PS5 build of the game exists at MS and is probably being maintained alongside the Xbox and PC ones.
