That was so sad but so good. The first half was hilarious. Yes, I cried a little at the end, I hate seeing girls cry, esp Hyomin who is my favorite.
The show is great because it's entertaining but teaches you new things and shows you a new culture (rural Korea) yet keeps reminding you what the truly important things in life are. This show is a passing thing, and (as they are made aware by the elders) even their glamorous pop star careers are passing things. As they go, they stop to recognize that, and you see how valuable the experiences working with each other are.
At the end here they focused on that, how in life we say goodbye and later see each other again, and while we are apart we meet new people who become important to us as well. I know it is simple wisdom, but it's easy to get too focused on our current tasks and forget the precious nature of relationships or the hope for them in the future. As I am learning Korean and making temporary friendships with international student through it, it is good to have this show reminding me of that side of things, but also the real reason why I'm learning it and the value in it.
I usually don't watch TV anymore because it is often so pointless, but this is one of the best shows ever. I think all TV should have these elements, no matter what type of show it is. I'd say good example in a scripted one is MASH.
Next episode the three newcomers (including f(x) member
Victoria *drool*) will join, and Kim Jong Min (really awesome guy) will be a guest for four weeks.
