iOS 10 is still really buggy months later.

It's probably the only iOS update where I've felt there's been more negatives than positives.

Changes to music app. Safari bugs. Auto lowering music volume when in apps with sound effects. Notifications and control center requiring swipes between two panels. All suck. And the benefits? Uhhhh I like screwing with stickers?

My weather app crashes every second time I open it. Open it once, works fine. Open it again after opening it once? Crash.

And the same gesture being used to open the camera and dismiss home screen notifications is just poor design and annoying and I hate iOS10

And people thought apple would benefit from any note users switching. Great first imoressions.

Only use iOS for work and I have no idea what's a bug or just garbage layouts/notifications. Just getting to the screen to enter a passcode seems like a chore after this update.

It's been frustrating to an extent. I've had to factory reset my phone and start over and that got rid of most issues I had. Not sure if others have tried the same.

It's awful.

My wife's 5S will intermittently lock, then just display a black screen where you can tell the screen is alive but with no display.

Holding the power / home buttons for anywhere between 5 seconds and 30 minutes(not an exaggeration) will cause it to power cycle repeatedly and eventually it'll come back to life.

I've tried updating to the latest release and a full factory reset, neither of which have made any difference.

My 5 is doing a little better, only occasionally going to a black screen with the loading wheel once or twice a day.

All made even better by them preventing downgrading back to iOS9.

I am enjoying iOS 10. Bugs are not things that I notice being too bad. And features like depth of field on the camera of my 7plus are awesome and worth it. I hope Apple fixes the bugs anyway.

If the rest of my friends didn't use iMessage, I would switch to Android in a heartbeat.

I see this sentiment posted from time to time and I don't understand it at all. How is it your problem if your friends use iMessage? They can still text you with the same contact information after you switch.

I got an iPad Pro for work last week and I hate it. The hardware is lovely, of course, but man oh man do I hate iOS. It's my first time using it since I had an iPhone 6S for a week at launch. Every time I have to use an iDevice it reminds me why I don't use them of my own volition.

It doesn't give me any issues but... Sometimes the camera refuses to work, in any app. It just freezes. Which really suck since I often use my iPhone for some street photography. If it freezes, the moment is lost.

You can't downgrade to iOS 9 anymore? Good thing I already did then, but now I keep getting reminders to update which is pissing me off. I am not sure if it will try to install when I have data turned off for settings, just in case I hit it by accident. This is why people jailbreak

It's not my favorite release, but I can't say I've experienced many issues.

Mobile Safari has more hitches than usual when tapping the URL bar though, not a fan of that.

iMessage has a lot of features that only work within its own ecosystem.

I've got an iPhone 7 and I'd say this is the glitchiest iOS build I've ever used, but sounds like you guys are having a worse time than I am. The podcast app still sucks horrendously but that's always been like that, I've just had my phone go totally unresponsive a couple times (like it wouldn't even turn of the screen or do a hard reset) and I just had to wait for it to fade to black and wake it back up. I was a party and for a minute I thought I wasn't going to be able to get an uber home...

I may be incorrect (if I am someone please let me know as i'd downgrade in a heartbeat!)

But from some reading a few days ago it was something like Apple had stopped signing iOS9 releases which prevented it.

Remember when one of the early 10 incarnations would (especially on the 6) randomly fuck up the digitizer causing the UI to go all wonky (needing a reset)? Good times.

The podcast app will not auto download podcasts half the time. I end up having to go into downloads, cancel them, and restart the download. Not the biggest issue in the world but it is annoying.

Edit: iPad Air 2

That's funny because my sister and I have had absolutely no problems after updating (iPhone 6 and 7 respectively).

On an iPhone 5 and 10 overall runs better than 9, the issue I notice most is the live camera screen freezing up when going to the camera from the lock screen.

Haven't encountered a ton of actual bugs on ios10, outside of the fact that my goddamned flashlight button now doesn't fire like 70% of the time. It's less buggy than the last iOS as far as I recall.

That said, I really hate most of the changes made to it. The notifications are terrible, Music app is godawful, etc. I also really hate that there's no quick option that I know of to type in my code. I often have to open my phone with slightly moist hands from cooking or cleaning and now without that option I have to continuously press the home button until it realizes it doesn't know what the fuck my finger is.

There are a ton of just weird or bad design issues for me throughout the OS. I think the problem is that Apple is largely between design paradigms. Force touch doesn't exist in a lot of their phones out in the wild so they're kind of doing it but half assing it and trying to get people on board and it's just not working. It's also all built on a UI that wasn't built on force touch.

That's a lot of the problem with Apple nowadays, I think. They're kind of afraid of nuking things and starting over with a clear design decision, so they're building things on top of other things and it's just a mess. It reminds me of how Windows used to be back when I stopped wanting to use Windows.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that bug/feature. I can't tell if this is how it was programmed or not, but right now if I go to my music and select Artist I get:
  • a-ha
  • Alien Ant Farm
  • America
  • etc...

This makes perfect sense.

But if I select Songs my list looks like this:
  • Take on Me
  • Smooth Criminal
  • Horse with No Name
  • Ventura Highway
  • etc...

Now can someone explain to me why the fuck Songs is sorted by artist alphabetically, and not by songs alphabetically.

Anyone had an issue where you have to hit play twice sometimes?

I thought it might have just been my old phone... but my 7 is doing it as well...

Anyone else see a visible reduction in quality between photos taken on a 6/6s and a 7?
Like too much sharpening or something similar?
Hard to see on the phone itself but it's really apparent when on a larger screen. Huge loss of fine detail.

I think this iOS release is by far the worst as far as quality goes. There are so many bugs that I've called Apple about and they have no answers. Is anyone else experiencing huge glaring bugs that won't go away?

The most annoying for me is iMessage alerts not automatically going away, even though it's set correctly in the settings. Apple had no idea how to fix the issue. So I guess I just have to wait for an update to hopefully fix it.

Anyone who's still on 9 should stay there as long as possible tbh. The new features aren't worth the bugginess..
🐜 🐛 🦂🕷🐞🐝

I have the opposite problem. My Message app doesn't show if I have a message in the right corner. Nothing! I actually have to go into the app to see if I have a message or its on the notifications center.

Aside from the new and dreadfully unresponsive unlock method i haven't had any real issues with ios10 on my iphone 6.

The only bug ive experienced is that sometimes i have to start a song twice for it to play.

I don't know if these are iPhone 7 Plus issues or iOS 10 issues, but my phone is would constantly lose service (Verizon) while using GPS and wouldn't get it back unless I shut off my phone and turned it back on; my phone would fail to connect to Bluetooth in my car every other day or so and I would have to delete the pairing and repair it for it to connect; and my home and lock button would become unresponsive for five or so minutes and then all the sudden my screen would flash a few times and they would start working again. Very annoying.

I just updated to iOS 10.1 or whatever it is, so fingers crossed it fixes these issues.

It's crap. I feel like the "new" iOS peaked with 7 and everything else has been needlessly bloat and bugs.

Same shifty stuff lingers - white screen for Music app, wrongly displayed tab previews in Safari, etc. Going on two years for a lot of these issues, if not more.

not ios10 related, but i cant even describe my hate towards the fact that whenever i turn my car on, the first song in my itunes playlist (an app i havent used in years) starts blaring due to bluetooth connectivity. doesnt matter if i have spotify or a podcast going.

is there a way a to rename itunes songs so that i can add rain drops or something and name it AAAAA? good god. so annnoying.

I haven't experienced any major bugs on my SE or iPad Mini Retina with iOS 10 after the T-Mobile situation was resolved (a revised APN was posted two days after the problem arose).

Pressing home to unlock the iPad Mini sucks though. :/

I have no issues on my 7Plus but I do find the depth effect on the camera not as good as I thought it should be.
But I really think iOS needs a dark mode options in some apps like messages and music.

This one hasn't caused me to hit my datacap after a day because of the podcast app attempting to query episodes every 3 seconds, so it's far from the worst in my experience.

And why the hell were star ratings removed and replaced with Love/Dislike. Like they don't believe people ever rated songs anything besides 1 or 5.

Definitely not just an iOS problem because my fiance's Android does the same shit. It's just a weird bluetooth auto-play thing that seems to transcend OS platforms.

What's worse, iOS 10 or Window 10's anniversary update? Both have been a pox on my existence for the last couple weeks. I feel like I'm in an episode of Black Mirror.

Bluetooth connectivity has been 100% garbage with iOS 10 across two devices. It's still breaking up, crackling and popping on my Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless and my Jaybird X2's. Very annoying when I listen to music/podcasts 8 hours a day at work.

10.1 did nothing to fix these issues. Which is just a crippling issue when your phone doesn't have a headphone jack.

I'm still on 9 at the moment.

The issues with 10 seem to sum up everything wrong about Apple nowadays to be honest.

I missed taking a pill on time this morning because 1 in 4 times my alarm goes off, it does so without sound.

Now I can't eat anything until 10:45.

:(

not sure if related, but on ios9, carplay worked very well for me. now, with 10, i have to plug in the phone a couple of times before it gets recognized. not to mention that there's a lot of problems launching apps from the interface and i just end up using the phone itself.... which defeats the purpose of carplay
