Horizon Remastered. Same thing.

TLOU already had a remaster. TLOU II on PS5 with just the PS4 running in backwards compatibility runs and looks fantastic.

There's one damn classic PS4 game that's stuck at 30fps and 1080p with terrible frame pacing and it's the one Sony refuses to remaster.

This only feels like they're trolling.

I don't really mind these remasters in the sense of if you buy the original version, this just costs $10 to upgrade to, even if you have a physical version. What I haven't liked is on PC at least with Horizon Zero Dawn, they gave the $10 upgrade too...but delisted the original game for new buyers, then repriced the remaster to $50 as the only new option, costing more than the depreciated original + the $10.

I just want Sony to remaster more of their older emulated catalog (PS1-PS2, PSP-Vita) at better quality and a faster pace than the slow drip-feed for the sake of preservation, and if you legally want to emulate some of those older titles didn't get a ton of physical copies made so they're expensive. Also, given RPCS3 getting decent PS3 emulation on PC, I'd like to see Sony figure out how to emulate PS3 games on PS5 instead of needing the cloud.

This is what happens when you force all your studios to work on live service trash, and then cancel them. So you have to pump out shit like remasters to fill the void. Most of these studios will not be getting new games out until the PS6 at absolute earliest.

I might go back for the DLC, but this game was painfully long and wouldn't do another playthrough. I had my fill of it at release already.

So people were up in arms, worried about the closure of Bend Studio after the cancellation of their live service game, now they make a remaster of a game that could now get a sequel if this remaster does well (speculation on my part but it means the franchise isnt totally dead) and now people are complaining that Bend/Sony are actually releasing this remaster? (which in turn will make money for Bend and Sony which hopefully means its less likely Sony will close the studio.... as an aside I personally dont think Bend were/are in any danger of shutting but internets will internet)

Its a $10 upgrade, buy it or not, why complain about it? remasters DO NOT take a long time to make and do not cost a lot to make either, they easily make their money back on dev costs.
