Cory Barlog is developing a sci-fi game, and there are fresh rumors that the next GoW game will be set in Egypt. If we eliminate release date part, Santa Monica is one of the most active studios in terms of production right now.

Bro they ARE producing games for us again but the gaas initiative fucked up the pipeline. The internal issues have already been resolved, but it will take time for the pipeline to get back on track. The problem is already fixed, the problem now is the long lead time and video games!

Yes, they fucked up major with the games as a service initiative. The good news is they have pivoted, the bad news is the pipeline was much more fucked up than we imagined.

Their last game was a big disappointement for me. God of War 3 and 2018 are their best games.

But Kratos's story is over and It's become a cast of very diverse characters now. Like TLOU2 they are using God of War IP in order to promote something else. It's not God of War anymore.

GoW2 had better set pieces. GoW3 had about 2 epic fights? It’s the worst of the trilogy imho.

Yeah, the opening to that game is fucking sick, as is the ending -- basically all the stuff that happens in the "present day", rather than during flashbacks of very little consequence to the overall plot.

At this point I can totally see Sony having a last laugh and instead of that rumored Greek Saga announcing GoW 2018 Remastered and calling it a day lol

This would be such bullshit and now that I think about it, this is probably a more realistic move coming from modern Sony.

Bringing 1 & 2 up to snuff (as well as the PSP games) with the looks of 3/A but in 4K & HDR would be dope.
