Diversity; yet another word that has lost its true meaning.

Sure, there's some friction there between the writing and art preventing Eve from having the over-the-top personality of Bayonetta, but even then I remember 2B, a fellow military android, showing off more of its sexiness throughout combat and cutscenes, showing a sort of a sexy-cold personality, even if that was all programmed into her.

My point is that literal killing machines can have a sense of identity to them besides just their sexy looks, and the Beauty and the Beasts from MGS4 come to mind.
Its all bullshit, cuz back when Bayonetta came out the parasite Sarkeesean and reeetards was saying the same shit about Bayonetta that they are now saying about Stellar Blade, but because somehow Bayonetta is now apreciated by the LGBT comunity, they came out with mental gymnastycs to justify why one sexualised character is ok and why the other sexualised character is not. BULLSHIT. A sexy character is a sexy character, dosent matter if have a slutty personality or not.

Please showing me example, I played Automata multiple times and I dont remember any cutscenes showing "sexiness" in that game....If you are talking about animation during combat then thats also true with Eve as well and even more so with Eve

It is 100% malicious. Thers a reason in Kotaku article Alyssa say "Take that cancel pigs". If you followed the gamergate 2 novela where Alyssa was balls deep being racist against white ppl while defending Sweet Baby Inc and all the racist shit they said on X, you knew why she wrote this article about Hades 2 characters being hot and Eve being bad.

And if you dont know i explain it to you. EVE from Stellar Blade is being used as a good example of feminine beauty and character design by gamers against DEI that are tired to see western devs uglyfying female characters, Alyssa Mercante, the writter of the kotaku article is a big defender of DEI. Hades 2 has DEI characters. So she came up with this article that this is the kinda HOT characters ppl should droll about but not EVE.

And plz, stop calling, these blog posters, journalists, they are not journalists, dont have a degree in journalism, and they are not reporting news, they are posting personal opinions, and pushing personal agendas.

Can we please stop using the racist language of "DEI characters"?

Thanks!

I think the point was even though 2B was an android it definitely had sexiness in its animations. No real reason for an android to walk like this but it gives it a sexy character/personality

almost like it's going down a catwalk.

Eve has lot of that through her animation.

Not doubting that or comparing the two (haven't played stellar blade yet anyway) but I'd say that gif is more the camera doing an ass shot than the android having a sexy personality. Was just pointing out that 2B from Nier Automata has sexiness programmed into her.

Who slides down a ladder that way? How is that not sexy?

It's sexy because she's sexy looking and looks naked with a camera ass shot but I don't see it as a flirty/sexy personality while going down the ladder.

Nobody goes down a ladder that way because most people use both hands and look down their crotch to see below when sliding down a ladder but I guess she can look back and down while using one hand. Just don't see it as a flirty/sexy personality to be honest, not that the gif isn't sexy.

I'm just not really bothered about trying to lash out at someone who wrote a few hundred words about sexuality in video games. Journalism is about presenting a point of view, you don't have to agree or disagree, but in these divided times, it'd be nice if more people could consider that its not malicious to say what you think about a subject. It's just a point of view.
Shes an activist not a journalist and she only wrote this article cause people where calling here out for her racist double standards on X.

Beyond tired of hearing about this. Have these people collectively lost their minds? From the way they talk about it you’d think she was literally walking around naked. It’s actually laughable how tame the character design is compared to the way it’s being talked about.

I said it once before, but I can’t wait for Stellar Blade to finally come and go so these weirdo activists can go complain about and ridicule something else. It’s getting so tiring and predictable. If they hate Eve so much simply because she’s attractive, just don’t support it and focus on what you like. It’s truly perturbing that a fictional character riles up so many people this. Means you probably have BIG issues and insecurities in your life.

2B didn't have flirty personality either especially compare to Bayonetta. Also Dragon's Crown have plenty sexy personality in their animation and diverse body types but that didn't stop Kotaku from whining and insulting the artist.

This nothing more than crappy excuse......Also when Bayonetta first came on 360/PS3 lot these so called journalist shit on that game as well and so they did with 2B.

Remember Catherine?

People call that "porn" game even tho it has no nudity and story about mature middle age people......its fucking double standard.

Honestly, I prefer Hades’ art design over Stellar Blade’s which seems your average korean-chinese busty female, which by the way I really like too, but Hades looks sexier to me when it comes to character art design.

I’ll be there day one for both titles, can’t wait for them

Yeah I wholeheartedly agree. They acting like she’s running around butt naked or something. Heard all the commotion about Eve and finally looked at her in full detail and I’m like, yeah she’s pretty and feminine, but is that why people are freaking out?

Yeah, I agree with you and think these articles are pretty stupid. I was only commenting on this conversation:

Both 2B and Eve have artificial bodies what exactly would be the point trying be flirty

but even then I remember 2B, a fellow military android, showing off more of its sexiness... showing a sort of a sexy-cold personality, even if that was all programmed into her.

My point is that literal killing machines can have a sense of identity to them besides just their sexy looks, and the Beauty and the Beasts from MGS4 come to mind.

My only point was that I agreed with Perrott that 2B had a flirty/sexy personality, an identity, even though she is an android and I was just giving an example video. There is nothing wrong with that either. Wasn't suggesting it shouldn't have it, wasn't making a comparison between the games or doubting Eve also has it. I'm fine with machines having an identity and being flirty/sexy. There are countless movies with the same premise too and they don't get half the nonsense articles that games do.

They're losing cultural power and so they are becoming more desperate and hysterical. Without their cultural heft they are just losers pocketing $26k a year for writing about virtual toys and they know it.

Two years ago they'd have been protected from criticism from institutional power. Now they are exposed to all criticism. Their fall will be glorious to witness.

I get what they mean in a sense.

Bayonetta is well aware of her attractiveness and makes sure to show it off herself throughout the entire game, even during gameplay. Not the case for Stellar Blade's Eve, who from a personality standpoint is just bland and doesn't own her sexiness the way Bayonetta (or to give an opposite sex example, Dante) do, which results in her feeling like nothing more than a pretty doll.
The tone of the game is completely different tho.

Stellar blade chick acting like bayonetta would make no sense, the game take itself very seriously if you played the demo.

So her acting like a normal human without flaunting her beauty is completely normal, it's not her fault if she has a sexy body.

The way these people talk about "sexy" and generally attempt to act horny in a super duper progressive way, is so aggressively lame...

"Safe horny" has always been a virtue signaling fest, but they keep getting worse.

Also progressive people in the west are really fucking racist against asian people, it's insane. The level of disrespect, and desire to dictate what is right or wrong for them, "be more like us", is really transparent.

Ree wasnt a thing when Bayonetta launched.
We were all one.

Hell the OT for Bayonetta is still here:

Youll notice the game was always loved by Genpop.
It was pulling 9s and 10s left and right from the jump........PS3 version not withstanding.

If anything the exact opposite is what plagued Bayonetta.....dudebros hated the fact they were playing a girl, who was sassy and shit.
The main critiscims of Bayo (sans being on PS3) was that the character was annoying.....because shes a strong female yada yada.

I never watched Serks video essay on Bayonetta because I never watched a Serks video cuz fuck that noise.
But whatever issues she had with Bayonetta are unlikely to actually line up with the reception the game got from the (which side is the left and which side is the right again?).
Women loved the game because Bayonetta was a strong woman, men loved the game because if you played it well enough she stripped for you.
Dont bring none of that revisionist shit here.....Jeanne X Bayo were a ship basically from the get go, so even if not officially confirmed in Bayo, she was basically forced into being a champion for LGBT shit way back when.

You haven't played the game so you know nothing about Eve's personality.

Actually, from the demo, we know that Eve is a rookie soldier sent to the meat grinder. So, her personal circumstances are nothing compared to Bayonetta's or 2B's , a seasoned war veteran. Eve doesn't know what rain is, for fucks sake. Devs have put in that small detail so even a toddler gets it but it seems that some people don't or just prefer trolling.

Back in the era when Bayonetta was released, the world wasn't the madhouse it is today. It is revisionism of the worst kind to pretend that Stellar Blade would get the shitstorm is getting if it released ten years ago.

I honestly don't think this qualifies as a shitstorm. It's not even banned on Era. I don't think any major outlets are declining to review it. It's getting more marketing than Starfield. It's been at the top of pre-order lists for a while. The creators have a making of documentary hitting youtube every few days.

BINGO. This is a prime factor in understanding this conversation.

Also racism against Europeans. In Asia and Europe there are dozens of minorities and ethnic groups not represented in games or any other media, and these racist cunts don't give a damn about them, they just want fellow Americans, either Afro-American or native Indians, the ultimate virtue-signaling token.

To be clear, in a fiction made by Asians, diversity would be depicting Asian ethnicities, neither Americans nor Europeans. But you can't expect these people to see it that way, cos they are mentally rotten.

The fact that official outlets like IGN France or the ones in my country are straight-up insulting and mocking devs for a videogame character is something unthinkable 10-15 years ago. Those people would be fired on the spot or put in an asylum. It doesn't matter whether in the end it makes an impact or not, what's been going on for the last two months is sheer insanity, as it was with Hogwarts Legacy.

The funny (or sad) thing is that if they ever make a second part of this game, in 5-6 years, we will witness a similar history revisionism.

Honestly I think it was much worse 10-12 years ago. IGN actually apologized. I'm not saying it to defend it, I'm saying that a lot of these blogs have lost a ton of power and influence and they're really a shadow of what they were a decade ago. Back then there was zero media out there to really contend with it. Now it's a whole industry of large youtubers.

Selene, Nemesis and Aphrodite can get it....even Artemis is hotter in Hades 2.
But lets not act like these depictions arent what we would call traditionally hot, its basically the CW of mythology with near all the characters being 10 outta 10s, sure some of them are different colors but they are all banging.
Its not some brave new take on looking hot.

The fact Kotaku put Hepheastus in their cover to "prove" their point that hotness can be diverse is so weird to me, Heph isnt meant to be seen as hot

Aphrodite is straight up naked?

Bet you this image would gets you banned from Ree.....until its revealed this is Aphro from Hades II and shes meant to be confident in her own body yada yada.
Eve is actually clothed.....albeit it skintight, but clothing nonetheless.

It is more cool than particularly sexy. The male version for a topless muscle man would probably be some calisthenic stunt going down arms only, robotic, very controlled, not gliding at all, still fast or whatever.
It's more like when some hero walks to the edge on top of a building turns around and dives backwards out of sight, just to appear on the back of their dragon. Pure nonsense to not look were you jump, but whatever.

The animations on this page where she just walks are imho more sexy.

BAIT: 'Controversial topic', 'Controversial current game', 'Well regarded and praised game'(Mix)
GAMERS: "NOM NOM NOM NOM"

Rage bait that gets circulated amongst certain people, and gobbled up wholeheartedly by others as great(you get 'BOTH SIDES'). I look forward to the future when these things are churned out on the regular by AI.

But anyway, Hades art looks pretty fucking sweet. Never played the game, but I love the art.
