I'd argue that there's a difference between teaching people to not use slurs, and say...telling second graders about gender fluidity and masturbation, for instance. One is not being an asshole, the other is closer to indoctrination, as you said. The Leftists tend to conflate awareness with drafting soldiers into their army.

There's no need to go into detail to teach kids not to be mean to others. Teaching them that in life some people are different and that their differences don't make them bad people is enough. Probably the only country in the world where if there's two people who look different in a scuffle, the first thing is determining if there was racial intent.

One part media, one part culture, one part social media whoring. I live right over the border from the US (more like 90 min away) and it's like night and day. If I travel across the border, you got bulletproof glass in fast food shops and taxi cabs. Chicago subways can be guarded by cops with dogs at night. And not one cop/dog per train. Like one pair every 3 subway cars. Go to a Buffalo Sabres hockey game and outside the arena at each corner is a couple soldiers with a rifle keeping watch and their humvee (I guess to chase down any crooks). Youd think you were attending a military recruitment centre.

You see a white and black or brown man fighting... You can't just assume it's not race related because this country is not fully healed and there's a lot of pushback on it. Asians, Native Americans, black (Latino and non), Latinos and everyone in between and mixed has had a story to tell about dealing with racism from a white person or even from other POC ... And it goes deeper with jailing And sentencing discrepancies as well as other things ... But that's another discussion.

Things have gotten better but some things haven't changed. It isn't because of sharpton or Jackson Jr.... If black and brown people tell you their OWN experiences with racism... That isn't "the media and sharpton" ... Put down your political lenses And maybe listen to experiences unlike your own. I've shared some of mine here and they were dismissed because it wasn't your (general "your") experience. No duh it isn't.

Not true. Children form social circles at an early age based on gender. Boys usually play with the boys, girls with girls. Their attention span can also change with adults for the same reason.

Some of you must have awesome memories because I dont remember shit all about my elementary school days aside from general stuff like friends, teachers, crushes and things like that. And some things you always remember like fist fights or recess sports.

But for me, I definitely remember having crushes on girls from maybe around grade 3??? Not sure. But I definitely liked girls. And I asked one to be my pair up for grade 6 dance and she said yes. I do remember being a kid and being among of group of neighbour kids (all older) and telling one of them (a blonde I had a crush on) to take off her pants. LOL. As for kids at a super young age goofing around with toys, for sure I messed around playing with my neighbour's dolls and stuff. Whatever she had in her house I'd play with, so if her stuff was dolls that's all she had. And my house was first year transformers and GIJOE. I dint remember much but I do remember she had a box of Barbie kind of shit and we'd take it out and play with it like kids in her basement and watch TV. I think a lot of kids played with different kinds of toys not because they dont know who they like, but simply that's the only kinds of toys someone might have at their house.

They actually don't feed you enough in the US but what they feed you is all high calorie garbage and they think that serving it to you with a small carton of milk somehow makes it healthy. A lot of the obesity starts at childhood where kids develop poor eating habits and schools serving nothing but pizza burgers, hotdogs, doesn't help.

I'm not a fan of the Obamas but Michelle Obama did good by trying to get healthy food in US schools.

That's it. And the schools I went to were just normal public schools. Not dumpy, but not ivy league either. Whatever the closest school was to our house I went to.

I dont think it's the norm for kids in Canada to have full service cafeterias with trays of food like you see kids on TV. Who knows, must depend on the school district.

We have free and low priced food for school kids because many parents either can't afford it or don't have the time to cook and pack it. Being poor in America is a real epidemic no one wants to tackle other than grassroots organizations.

I posted the important part of the bill and a link to the full text. As worded it would prohibit any type of sexual or gender orientation discussion in classroom settings. Ill quote myself for you.

The only bill I know of that you could be talking about says, "prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels" those grade levels being pre-k to 3rd. Heterosexuality would be prohibited as well by the wording of the bill. It doesn't prevent 1 on 1 or even small group discussions of said topics either.
