During the huge hiatus Mamamoo debuted and totally occupied the niche of idol group with excelente vocals. They really lacked promotional time and agency is to blame...

Would be even juicer if we got a view of a management team pushing a relationship to a national pride icon like a sports star or some nonsense. Lovely seeing them act like we are dumb though. Although... a lot of fans are.
Oh man the drama today in my class when we did valentines day stuff using the 100 beautiful people. When they saw so many k-pop stars they were like "they all got surgery!" and I pointed out that how would you know if the people on the list from Japan and what not did not have surgery too and they all kind of had that moment of "its not Japan's style" so I pointed out a fact at the stats of Japanese plastic surgery so one of my boys screams "ALL WOMEN ARE LIARS!" hahahaha.

I think that's what the management had an issue with more than making it sound like they are dating in itself. They seemed openly amused by how pathetic fans like that are.
Gfriend comeback in the 2nd week of March. Nice 2+ week gap with Twice there, to not canibalize each other. Gfriend have yet to release a bad single and are a digital juggernaut, could be interesting to see if they still have the momentum and their smal company plays their cards accordingly to keep the ascending trend.

Finally heard and saw the music video for "I'm ill" by Hello Venus. Feels bad since this group has some very pretty members, but -shrug- the song aint that good and the video was pretty cheap lol.
Their concept change after 2013 was so unnecesary, the group has been in decline since then.
I will be suprised if they survive this year as a group.

RV's mini clicked with me the first time I listened through it. It doesn't sound watered down like RR was and is more in tune with the crazy, quirky "red" concept from a music perspective. I think the MV concept is the wackiest one yet and I love it because of that. Puppets, a man in a flower suit, getting high off of perfume, going through a wardrobe to a CS Lewis like world... Amazing. If I had to choose an album from their previous releases that is closely related track variety wise (I can't say whether or not this or ICC is better at this point), I'd say it mirrors the ICC album. Overall, this album is a return to form and puts RV back on the right track, imo.
My favorite tracks are: Body Talk (happy to see that a lot of people are praising this one tbh), Happily Ever After, and Talk to Me

Good on em for abolishing the netizen category but overall... meh. Aseul is nominated for dance&electronic album but honestly I doubt any Korean album last year was better and she should be in the main album category. And where's Hoody for rnb album?

MVs is poorman's emo era VIXX. They were teasing this concept like this white vs black thing that gave me Hyde vibes. Anyway, this group is one of the most (if not the most) unconventional boy groups out there, so I'm also looking forward to their choreography.
I don't think I posted their latest japanese release, but it makes for a very memorable first listen with some of that vocal processing.

Yea they've had weird concepts which is why it's a shame this new one feels kinda messy, but the choreo might bring it to life because they know how to make it interesting. I love their debut, actually, but I don't think I checked any of their stuff out past 2013 lol.

Universal basically stopped promoting Chocolat, had no plans to ever promote them, didn't schedule any individual thing for the members, stopped requiring them to identify as Chocolat members, let them say whatever and live however they wanted privately and publicly, let Tia individually find her own work outside of music, yet held them to their music business exclusivity contracts for no reason at all. They kind of got Fiona Apple'd.
