HOW IS IT EVEN REAL!? Was not expecting a freaking successor to Air Ride and yet here we are!

Well done Nintendo and Co, you guys smashed it out of the park!!

I remember liking the GC game a lot.

It'll be tough to compete with Mario Kart World though, that looks crazy good.
 
KAR reviewed poorly on Cube but had an oddly loyal following. It's Sakurai so I'm interested. The timing is pretty weird since MK will still be fresh on everyone's mind.

It was undercooked. Sakurai vented his frustrations on how Nintendo didn't let him fully develop the game to his standards. It's a great prototype of a game that needed to be in the oven longer.

Air Riders will satiate the itch Sakurai has probably felt since that time.

This is his REVENGE game!

Kirby Air Ride COMPLETE aka Air Riders!
 
Thank God Sakurai is getting to make a non-Smash game. That poor dude hasn't had the chance to make something different in like 20 years. I don't really care about Kirby all that much, but I'm sure the game will be super fun.

It's game being developed by Sakurai and you calling it "shovelware"? I get that you have serious hate boner against anything Nintendo but my god shit posting is becoming childish.

You don't like what Nintendo is doing then play with your playstation system instead shit posting in every Nintendo related topic.

Keep bringing up PlayStation in an unrelated thread, that has zero to do with anything. I've owned every single Nintendo console outside of the Wii U

You're entitled to be excited about this game, I'm entitled to be disappointed
 
I think this will be Masahiro's masterpiece.

If people have already forgotten about Kid Icarus: Uprising, we're in store for something truly great jam-packed with a f*ckton of content (I predict even a racetrack builder module for online play).

Don't fade it until you play it!
 
Kirby's Air Ride is easily one of my favorite GameCube games of all time but a lot of Mario Kart World looks to scratch the same itch the original City Trial mode did. By all means looking forward to it but I do wonder how it'll standout in the same year as MKW.

What? That Nintendo will give him the adequate budget and unconstrained time for full development this game deserves?

He's clearly shown the depth of content with games like Kirby's Adventure, Smash Bros. Melee, Meteos and now Uprising, so I'm not sure what left there is to "figure out".
 
Just bought Kirbys Forgotten World. Always wanted to play it but 30fps held me back.

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. Not sure why multiple racing games can't be released at the same time and succeed. Plus, Air Riders will be a VERY different racer as it is technically an ON-RAILS RIDING (RACING) game.
 
Didn't the first Kirby Air Ride sell very poorly on GameCube? That's an odd choice to use Sakurai on such a project.

Kirby Air Ride was amazing. City Trial was an amazing concept and really fun to play with friends. It was also Sakurai's last project before leaving HAL to do his own thing if I remember right. It was probably his idea to do a sequel and if I were Nintendo I'd let the man do whatever he wants at this point.

Still can't believe this got announced, I never would've expected it.
 
They could have made Kid Icarus Uprising 2 (or remake or something).
Instead Nintendo will release 2 cartoony racing games during 2025?

Kirby Air Ride was a mediocre game with one incredible idea: City Trial. Modern battle royale games should have already implemented the random events from city trail; I honestly can't believe no one has copied this gamemode yet.

Kirby Air Riders is Sakurai's chance to show off the game he always intended to make back then.

Ngl these videos impress me enough to at least feel the same way. Though technically, I traded our Sega MegaDrive+ MegaCD for SNES, so Switch 2 would be the first Nintendo console I'd ever buy.

Definitely gonna pick one up later down the line.

Edit:

Btw, I was completely into the first Kirby on OG Gameboy at the time.
