This goes both ways. I remember seeing some posts about how the high metascore was a conspiracy by the gaming media to get this game a nomination at the game awards. turns out, no, it wasnt.

the game is mid. mid games dont get nominated. there is nothing more to it than that. kotaku should instead be asking why in an industry filled with woke journalist did this not even get a nomination? because its more mid than woke.

So a game with an atrocious color palette, terrible looking main characters, uninteresting plot, and painfully modern dialogue deserves to be GotY?

Why?

I can only base this off of trailers and a couple YouTube gameplay clips after launch that showed up on YouTube recommendations but the game does not grab your interest.

What they fail to realize is the insane woke games they champion are the ones to blame for making more and more folks hate them over time. People don't like getting disgusting woke shit push onto them. And lunatics like these people calling folks racist or bigots etc just because they don't want to accept insane and sick shit definitely aren't helping their side either and is just making things worse for them. And nobody is being racist at this game, bigots maybe but not because of gays or lesbians but because of insane evil shits like they them non binary non sane etc stuff shoved into players faces. They're only getting more people to hate them as plenty of folks that didn't care too much about woke stuff years ago are now hating it. In the past I did wonder if people on shitty sites like Kotaku are secretly trying to get more people to hate on the lgbtq by being stupid to others on purpose but they really are that crazy and actually act like this.

Want to have LGBT characters, no problem just put them in the normal way so they'll be a good character just like any other like how Fallout New Vegas or how Puri Puri or Griffon etc are in opm and berserk etc. And you'll never see a bigot comment for them because they aren't being pushed onto anyone but rather just another good character in a game with other interesting characters. Evil shits like they them non binary etc should have never be there in the first place let along being debated or pushed to people.

And not to mention that the writing is so horrible that even without the woke shit, it'll still be a very crappy game anyway.

Yeah the thing they don't seem to understand is they are actively pushing people away in the middle who, at worst, felt like things were forced. Then they actively dismissed or glossed over real issues in many of these games with writing, performance, etc. Shaming and blaming the customer and the audience never fucking works. People walk away thinking either they are biased to the point of blind or the more cynical think they have been "paid off" by the pubs.

They are the ones to blame that they lose page views and credibility by the day.

If the gaming press only did their fucking job and put their pet issues to the side, things would be different for them. They act like they set the tone of conversation for the hobby through the reviews and articles and everyone falls in line. That's not how this works. The audience as a whole does. The Zeitgeist that comes from the audience and the industry does. It's fucking narcissism on their behalf and they don't serve the audience they have. They preach to them and designated themselves as taste makers.

Factoring in the development costs for Dragon Age: The Veilguard and the reports of the mass refunds of the game, I'm shocked that EA hasn't shut down Bioware already.

Balatro as a goty nominee is a giant joke. Well it would be if it was funny but it’s not even funny. I just refunded the game on steam after playing for an hour. Talk about the media overhyping a game for no reason.

Geoff is not a serious individual at all. How can dlc be even considered as a nominee? Just dumb.

Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, Rise of Ronin, Unicorn Overlord, Persona 3 Reload and Dragon's Dogma 2 are more worthy of actual snubs than Dragon Age.

We all know why this game keep getting brought up. It's outrage news and it's giving them clicks.

Be honest. Would people even engage in discussion if this wasn't a controversy?
