Preordered on PS5 and Steam…

Simply can’t wait. Haven’t been this excited about a release in ages, and I replayed them earlier in the year!

Finished Blood Omen again last week and will go through these then into Blood Omen 2.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Is this coming to PC and/or Xbox?
Of course it is.

Even Switch.

It is available to pre-order today with a 10% discount until the official launch!

Are these going to hold up to newcomers who forgot to play them originally back in the day?

Never did play the Tomb Raider ones. Probably won't replay these but they were fun enough, but I recall the puzzles and environmental traversal rather than bosses that the trailer focused on.

They're adding multiple control schemes to make it easier to pick up, and optional things like a compass to help navigation (since the original(s) can be a bit obtuse ... so mechanically it should be fine.

In terms of presentation and voice acting, these games, especially SR2, shits all over 95% of today's releases. So newcomers might end up thinking why more games today aren't as well written.

This is one of those games where I can’t decide whether to get it on PlayStation or pc and will end up not buying it at all for a year or so. Still gave that dilemma with the tomb raider remastered

True that and I hate to be a negative nancy about modern games, but one thing I'd like to add is that Soul Reaver 2, while a masterpiece, is rarely in any top whatever PS2 games list. It's a fantastic game, but those were not rare at all in those days.

Playing Blood Omen 2 as I am writing this. SR2 was always my favorite of the series. Was super hooked to the storyline. Will buy this day one.

That said, has there been any word of a Defiance re-release? That’s the only one missing now iirc.

I'm ashamed to say that i never played these games. Curious considering how many times i played Tomb Raider 1 to 5.

I loved TR Remastered collection so i should be pleased with this one i suppose.

Metacritic scores are fine, generally high 70's/low 80's across all formats. You've got a few soyboys complaining about 90's game mechanics, lack of checkpoints, etc but who gives a toss what they think. They complained about the exquisite TR remasters too 🙄

I was so excited when I heard about this, the original SR1 was one of my favorite games of 1999 and I played it many time over the next few years. But I learned the hard way when I downloaded it on PS3... if they haven't updated the controls, I probably just won't be able to get back into it.

Even if the the controls are updated but a shit job was done akin to what was done with the Tomb Raider collection, I still wouldn't be able to play it.

EDIT a day later: Started playing it tonight. They did it. They replaced the ancient L1/R1 camera controls with proper right analog stick control, including the option to invert. There's still a fair amount of general control clunkiness, but this what I needed. So good to be able to enjoy this game again.
