How are the bosses now? The initial reviews said they were too easy which was a let down to hear.
They haven't made anything in the harder since launch, just easier. This game is a lot like Demon's Souls, where getting to the bosses is the hardest part of the game, and even that they've toned down significantly. They did add in options to add back difficulty and even remove bonfire equivalents, but nothing really changes the bosses.

They offer a fair challenge. If they feel too easy, you can fight with a lower-level weapon(how much you struggle on the way to the boss gives you a clue). Difficulty varies depending on the character level too.

Yeah, I can say it's similar, especially in terms of boss difficulty.

I felt the same way when I first played it. Enemies were coming from everywhere and combat was floaty. It was like an mmo at that time. I deleted it after the first boss.

I gave it another shot after the 1.7 patch, and I've been playing it non stop for nearly 40 hours. With its atmosphere, world, bosses, music, and gameplay, it's an amazing game, 9/10. It definitely deserves another chance.

It also has a last second perfect block mechanic like Sekiro, and after doing it 2-3 times, you get a chance to perform a critical attack. I think all souls games should have this.

Btw Lies of P was also great. I used to think it was the best soulslike outside of From, but as a whole Lotf appealed to me more.
I went back to this, installed it last night. Tried it today. I’m shocked. They seriously made it feel like a legit Souls game in terms of character control. It feels much better than before. That’s crazy.

I've been playing this now as well after finishing Elden Ring. Honestly, its rock solid so far. The combat is good and works well mechanically. As soon as I get the last two endings in Elden Ring, I'm going to focus on nothing but this game. Apparently it also has seamless co-op, which sounds amazing. Maybe some GAF'ers want to link up some time? Xbox here.

I agree. To me LotF feels like a Dark Souls 2.5, a serviceable middle ground. My biggest complaint was getting the Radiance ending, so anticlimactic. Never doing that again. Gotta replay it to get see the other two endings.
