Recently, I was bingewatching the series. While I didn't think Season 3 was as good as 1 or 2, it still had a lot of great moments in there. I also didn't think the quality drop could be as massive as it was from 3 to 4.

This season felt so soulless, unsatisfying, and just atrocious in general. There were maybe two things that cracked me up (Intro to the stinkmeaner episode and Goodlove repeatedly getting bleeped out in the last episode), even in those episodes were dull. The Stinkmeaner episode in particular pissed me off considering how much of a retread it was of the first except having Grandad turn into Stinkmeaner and have some lame Star Wars joke in there.

I don't think I really need to mention the Kardashian or Breaking Bad episodes as those seem to be the most hated episodes of the season.

I think I'm gonna need a break from the series until I can forget 4 altogether. Right now, I'm just pissed and making me retroactively hate the series currently.

I have seasons 1-3 on dvd, watched one or two episodes of season 4 and couldn't take anymore.

Was it season 3 or 4 that did the spoof on Michael Myers and "wet cigarettes"? I heard that season wasn't all that but I saw that episode and it had me dying from just the amount of absurd shit that was occurring

Season 4 is the only one without Aaron McGruder's input, and it shooooows.
The sharp satire is gone, everyone feels out of character, there's far too much focus on Robert, the whole thing was a disaster.
Even Adult Swim felt that way as they no longer air Season 4 in reruns. Despite getting high ratings.

That was Season 3. Great episode.

Yeah I like to pretend this season never happened. It was awful. I'm pretty sure they aired it out of order too since Grandpa went from being poor to being fine and then poor again.

Yeah it was Season 3. That one is still funny to watch.

There's a lot more flaws than I overlooked. I was pissed at a lot of the plot threads that were mostly dropped off. Also good to hear that AS isn't airing it at all.

When they got sold into slavery, I was like "their is no fucking way I'm watching this." Never looked back.

Season 4 was a travesty. IDK if Aaron was fired or left but the shows quality dropped like a brick and whoever was at the helm had no understanding of why people ever liked the show/comic to begin with. That series finale was also complete garbage. Didn't even bother to make that somewhat decent.

Seasons 2 and 3 had some of the best modern satire in ages. Very sharp, funny, and extremely biting in places (Pause, especially).

Season 4? Tried to be topical, but was just bad. So disappointing.

Season 3 was incdreidble. They took no prisoners... that season... Fleece Johnson, Tyler Perry, Jack Bauer, Ann Coulter, BET... lmao

Season 4 was written by people who not only didn't understand the Boondocks, but seemingly actively hated them and all their works. They fucking sold them into slavery. The joke being that having a mortgage is slavery. Ha. Ha. Ha.

He left to go produce Black Jesus I believe.

Is season 3 any good? I mostly loved season 1 & 2 (especially "The Passion of Reverend Ruckus" and "Return of the King"). When s3 premiered in 2010, yet taking place in 2008, criticizing the Obama hype, it felt soulless. (Doubly so because I watched it in 2014). Hindsight doesn't make great satire.

It was really forgettable.

I remember 'You make me want to ugh', and a Breaking Bad reference, but not much else.

A flashback bus episode sticks out too, but I'm struggling to think of anything else.

Season 3 is pretty decent, not great but decent. I personally think Season 2 was the series' high point.

Oh, really? That makes sense. I think he did mention a while back that he wanted to stop doing the show. Guess he wanted to move onto a new project but wish they just stopped after season 3 instead of trying to do a project without him.

Please watch all of it (season 3)

I think people just fashionably hate season 4. Season 2-3 was just as Garbage, except it was packaged better.

It was decent Season 1, and then completely fell off when they fell in love with their own characters(Ruckus,Stinkmeiner,Katt Williams,Random rapper #100...ect), and not in love with the source material.

Did they even introduce Ceasar? He was like in nearly every comic strip by the time it hit its stride in the early 00's. Oh wait....cant have a smart black character on screen other than Huey because the audience wants to laugh at black people and not with them. Here is another stinkmeiner episode instead:

"WHATS GOOOD NIGGAAAAAAAAAAAA"

I agree but I probably need to revisit the series.

I felt Season 1 was good but found myself kinda bored with 2, 3, and 4 lol.

Meso, the official Boondocks season 2 and 3 threads and you being the sole voice of negativity in them was a long time ago. It's time to let it go and accept that many people found Season 2 and 3 to be great/better than season 1 (3 being amazing IMO, and with 2 I am including the "banned" episodes but it was better than 1 outside of a few stand out episodes like the MLK one).

Same here. I watched a couple of episodes and didn't understand what was going on. I don't even know why they brought it back if McGruder wasn't gonna be involved in it. So pointless.

They shouldn't have tried to do it without Aaron. It was like the third season of Chappelle show all over again.

Haven't watched S4 yet and I don't think I ever will since I've heard nothing but negative things about it
