One of the best games of all time

By the time I saw the credits roll and I heard the end theme song, my mind was blown to bits
Its a decent game with a ton of stuff that could be improved.

Not even close to the best in its genre, never mind one of the best games of all time. Obviously subjective though and glad you enjoyed it so much.

Solid 8/10 for me.

Cross posting from the OT :
What started like a nice game with its own twist on the souls formula, has devolved into a checklist, "gotta just finish it 'cause I can't do it anymore" game for me...

See, the real problem with this game aren't the invisible walls but the levels themselves :
- Branching path after branching path after branching path...
- Level design isn't good, sure, levels look nice and atmospheric (plus, that art direction) but, gameplay wise they might as well be interconnected hallways.
- That invisible walls thing again...is actually a detriment to the whole level design and its readability since you don't really know if you can actually drop down/interact or not with specific parts of the map just by glancing from a few (in-game) meters away sucking the whole exploration fun out of the game since you're scouring every inch of the map like a maniac trying to guess if that specific part of the map is actually interactive or not.
Chapter 3 (snow area) and chapter 4 were especially bad when it comes to this.

- Levels feel more like checklist gauntlets than actual levels : there's no fun in it, you're basically doing the usual boss/sub-boss rush thing while trying to find all the secret chests /secret sub-bosses spirits (those with the blue glow), it becomes OCD inducing after X hours...

Most importantly though, the game just outstays its welcome, shit, I'm level 91 with 50+ hours and I've just started chapter 5, and to be honest, after the chapter 4 bullshit with Yellow Loong, Scorpion lord, 2-phase zombie bird and final chapter boss (100 eyes dude) I think I've had my fill, I just don't have the courage anymore to continue playing it but, knowing me, I won't be able to start a different game if I don't finish this fucking game first.

Again, it starts nice but after X hours the game becomes a slog due to the not so good, very linear but still confusing level design, difficulty spikes ahoy and general fuckery.

It looks good, the art direction is really nice, there's some cool vistas and bosses but...it just goes on and on and on and on...
One of the most exhausting games I've ever played, I need a good 10-15 minutes to clear my head after finishing a session with this game...

Great game, probably my GOTY from 2024. Platinum isn't too bad besides some farming near the end, but easier to do with the guides that are out there.

I typically love these types of games, but Wukong didn't click with me. I made it to early Chapter 4 and just lost interest. I loved Sekiro and Stellar Blade, so I figured this would be in my ballpark, but I guess it's not my bag. I know for sure that I don't like the pacing of the game, it's very strange. Chapter 1 is a boss rush, Chapter 2 is more balanced between normal enemies and bosses, and then Chapter 3 was just god awful.

It looked so basic and soulless. All the pre-release buzz was about graphics and console exclusivity. Made the hype for it feel artificial.

I'm also barely a few hours in, and it is amazing. I shelved it temporarily so I can beat Elden Ring, first, but its next up on my list!

Amazing game. Story didn’t make any lick of sense to me. I am not familiar with Chinese folklore or whatever that thing was. But to me the enemy design was just stupid ( again, I think they are related to some Chinese believes or something ) sorry not trying to be disrespectful

But in general the fights in the game were amazing and it was one after the other.

The best thing about Wukong is that there is no filler.

The game is pure action and I love it.

I recently completed Ghost of Tsushima and was fed up with the constant walking, track this enemy's footprints, scout this area, fetch this item etc.

It’s a really good game. I don’t know really anything about Chinese folklore, I’ve enjoyed all of the characters and the backstory. You’re always fighting but the secrets and gameplay are just great. The pacing feels good. Your always just close enough adjust a few things to get past the next part.

It’s one of those games I played it till it hit a wall. After coming back recently running a few side missions I got some stuff that helped push me over for the boss fight in chapter 2. Couple days later I’m now at the end of chapter 4.

Exceptionally well done game. If this launched in a bit better state it probably would have picked up more goty wins. But either way, I’ve played through Astrobot and I thought that was going to be my favorite game out last year. I’m beginning to question that thought now.
