I want both. She hasn't had any real stand out moments as a pilot. She's never even gotten a decent action sequence that I can remember. Her character moments came in the last ep and they were just depressing. Has she even shot anybody down yet?
No, that's not what I meant. It could also be that Hayate chooses her and stays with her forever. I don't know. lol I don't mind being wrong. I love the show. I like it more than Frontier because it balances all the Macross-ism pretty well. I'm not really sure why you're upset at me.

Sounds like she's really not enjoying the treatment of her character. She's got the potential to he awesome but they're really not giving her a lot to work with. Most of the time in Macross both women in the triangle get their moments to be awesome. Mirage has just been that stiff older sister type chick so far. At least she can dress, she had great outfits last ep.
Dude watch them you'll probably like the original and Frontier the most. Macross 7 is um...a bit out there, but even still it's a solid enough show. Oddly enough Delta is my least favorite so far. Don't get me wrong I like it, but I already know I'll have to rewatch once it's done t form an actual opinion of it. The pacing just seems slow to me.
She tires to brush it off with
"the baby has a re-enforced skeleton" and it was in zero-g but yeah she still threw a baby lol.

Oh my fucking god lol!!! Yeah she doesn't seem...great as a parent. I guess she's the Toph Bei Fong of Macross on that front. What else has she done? Though she didn't seem that bad in Macross 7, just controlling.
This explains why I've never seen it and I've only seen the dub of Macross once so I don't remember this.
Too bad they never said what happened to Komilia...
Finally got around to episode 16 today. Yeah...they've definitely been making a point of giving Mirage the short end of the stick. Not only does she tend to get very little focus in general within the series, it doesn't seem like she was ever intended to be seen as a viable choice for Hayate. Underdeveloped as a character beyond anything relating to her as a pilot, not allowed by the writers to have the same level of piloting ability as her grandparents, and unlike the rivals within the triangles I'm most familiar with in this series (SDF, Plus, Frontier), she never has any real opportunity to be competitive.
Even as a dirty traitor who jumped ship to Team Freyja early on in the series, I can't say I'm pleased with this.

I'm just highly annoyed how they're just not allowing Mirage to really be anything. She's just stiff. Best character design wasted on her. And why the fuck are they going to call her a Jenius without the piloting ability to back that shit up? Emilia, one of my favorite Macross one off characters in a half hour managed to sing Basara to a near fucking stand still, battle Gibil and just be awesome.
How the heck is she like this when she's powered by a badass bloodline? If you want to see what her character could have been like go watch Macross 7. She's essentially Gamlin. M7 managed to take Gamlin, the dude nobody wanted to see be the star of the show and made the dude bro as fucking fuck. I love Gamlin, he's the broest bro to ever fucking bro.

I'm on the ep where Claudia tells Misa about how her and Roy hooked up. God damn Misa had to eat a lot of shit during this triangle. Watching Hikaru tear into her when she actually just wanted to invite the guy over for some tea was just horrible. Roy's character model is so inconsistent in this ep. He goes from hippie to short hair based on distance. You know Hikaru really is dense as fuck. Misa's done everything short of throw her tits in the dudes face and it took till the end of this episode for him to realize that Misa loves him. Seriously, you guys got mad at Alto but you didn't get mad at Hikaru?

What I don't get with Hikaru is that the dude pretty much had four years to make a choice and in a way his heart made the choice for hime like 2 years before the show even ended. He seemed to have a way more mature and balanced out chemistry with Misa than he did with Minmay. Only reason why he clung to Minmay was because he'd just be in innocent kid mode whenever Minmay popped up, but he was more grown up than that at that point. Minmay wanted him to have a life he was going to be happy with and even towards the last half he seemed to think about Misa way more than Minmay. I think Alto had what a year tops with his triangle? Now Kaifun, he's not even on Griffith's level cause at the very least that motherfucker was charismatic. Once you stripped away Kaifun's good looks he was just a preachy asshole. Fuck that fool.

At least Freyja has the good common sense to not show a fuck ton of cleavage in...whatever the fuck they're wearing during this mass broadcast. Lol was "My Dickulture" really an accurate translation? I'm surprised these guys aren't trying to fuck their mammal phones. I'm legit convinced this show just does not like Mirage. Either her VA pissed somebody off behind the scenes or something else. They just torture the poor girl. She doesn't really even get to smile with Hayate. If that does happen I'm not exactly going to like it because it'll just make Mirage look like second fiddle because Freyja got pissed cause the dude's dad killed her parents. Usually with these things they paint both women in a positive enough light to allow the guy the option of a choice. The only time I didn't feel this happen was in M7 cause you had a choice between Basara and Gamlin. Basara was a demented fucking space hippie that would spend his down time either singing at a mountain or singing at a comatose space vampire that he almost orgasmed to death. Gamlin was a straight laced military dude, but the dude had layers, once those got peeled back Gamlin became awesome.soon everyone soon....

But seriously, any hopes for the Mirage ship went out the window with this episode. Even with the two things that made Freiya's heart-on get soft, it's just so they don't get together right away and have some hardships as there are still 5+ episodes to go.

You wouldn't even bat an eyelash to the weird shit that goes on in Delta if you've seen Macross 7. Delta as far as I'm concerned is more of an extension of Macross 7 than it is to Macross Frontier to me. And also go watch the original Macross since I feel the love triangle in that is way better written than the one in Delta so far. Even though towards the end Hikaru was a fucking block head.
