Is this a sign that the other conviction will be overturned too?
his confession wasn't used in avery's trial

Just watched this series, and although I think Steven is innocent, I wouldn't go as far as to say the police planted evidence to frame him, unless the person who killed her is somehow tied to police and got help from there.. Whole case makes no sense, and the most coherent theory right now is that Steven did do it... Kratz is a vile scumbag but he's just doing his job. Also something about Steven's lawyer irks me.. Not dean Strang but the taller one. If I was a member of the jury I could not help myself from thinking this guy is full of shit and defending a guilty person..
Glad there was a member of the jury who had to leave on medical emergency though, so we can get a little insight of what happened in there, albeit fucked up..
And it's nice to see Steven is in good hands now. I am confident he will be released. And seeing how her brother handled the case I dont even care if they find who the killer is tbh
Also if they make a season 2 I hope they summarize all the sketchy evidence they ignored in season 1, for the sake of comprehensiveness..fabricating a one sided story is what got Steven imprisoned in the first place :/
You could get insight into the jury without someone getting a medical leave. Once a case is closed the jury is totally free to talk about it.
One of them told the MaM filmmakers that they were forced to vote guilty, and they were too scared to do otherwise.really? I didn't know that. Has any of the jurors come out and divulged information?
Pretty much every single piece of "sketchy" evidence is BS anyway. But I'd want them to go over the "sweat DNA" they claim was in her car, and explain just how much BS it is.Also if they make a season 2 I hope they summarize all the sketchy evidence they ignored in season 1, for the sake of comprehensiveness..fabricating a one sided story is what got Steven imprisoned in the first place :/
Press conference with Zellner after she filed the motion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nAk_FBaXMg
You should read the motion. Lots of very suspicious stuff.I think Stephen is guilty but railroaded.. . that said this video suggesting his new attorney's angle is to retest everything doesn't fill me with confidence that the conviction will be overturned. This video makes me think they have nothing
You should read the motion. Lots of very suspicious stuff.
There was lots of suspicious stuff last time as well, but it didn't help. What she needs is actual clear evidence.
Thinking about watching this series, one question:is this the series that framed a guy? I remember something like that, like a confession when he tought the cameras were off
No. You are thinking of The Jinx, though 'framed' is not the word to use.Thinking about watching this series, one question:is this the series that framed a guy? I remember something like that, like a confession when he tought the cameras were off
No. That's Jinx.
The documentary, The Jinx, was made by people who made All Good Things (the director/co-producer and co-producer/co-writer) after Bob Durst (the murderer) contacted the filmmakers about the film and offered to be interviewed. Is there a documentary about this? I haven't heard of it until now, and saw there's a movie based off of it called All Good things. Anyone seen this, and can compare to the real story? Sorry for going off-topic, I'm just very intrigued by cases like these.
Robert Durst, the eccentric New York real estate scion whose brushes with the law have made him repeated tabloid fodder, made his first court appearance in Los Angeles Monday and pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the execution-style slaying of his friend, writer Susan Berman.
Durst, 73, entered the courtroom in a wheelchair, sporting a neck brace, wearing a blue and white striped shirt and khaki pants.
I do want to say here and now though I am not guilty, he said in a hoarse voice. I did not kill Susan Berman.
Durst is accused of carrying out the December 2000 shooting of Berman, a confidant who had befriended him while they attended classes at UCLA, because she was a witness to a crime.
Back in August, Making A Murderer subject Steven Averys lawyer filed a motion to retest key pieces of evidence in his case. Two and a half months later, it sounds like the scope of that testing has finally been agreed upon. From the Twitter account of Averys lawyer Kathleen Zellner:
The Associated ‏@AP
BREAKING: Judge orders release of nephew in "Making a Murderer" while prosecutors appeal homicide conviction being overturned.

Seems thread-worthy to me, but I don't wanna do the honor. Anyone?

Fucking knew it. Can't wait until it's accepted as proof, he gets what's coming for him (along with other shitheads) and we'll have a thread about this.Chicago lawyer Kathleen Zellner, who claims she will free Making a Murderer subject Steven Avery, says Teresa Halbach's ex-boyfriend (Ryan Hillegas) is the one who killed her, she alleged in a multi-page petition filed Wednesday, June 7.
Season 2 when?
Zellner also claims Kratz knew of a piece of evidence that would have shown Avery wasn't guilty, but he ignored and "misplaced" or destroyed it.Ryan Hillegas killed her, after she began dating his roommate Scott Bloedorn
Jealousy was motive
Hillegas planted the RAV4 and lead the search committee to the Avery yard
Alleges key was planted in Avery's trailer by Lenk and Colburn
Hood latch DNA swab does come from Avery, but is apparently from his groin

Not yet imo. She filed, but that's it. Outcome hasn't changed until someone replies to her. She said she thinks it's Ryan, but that doesn't automatically mean he'll even get questioned about stuff again. This is worth a new thread.
