There isn't a single game coming that isn't met with hate. There is so much desire for failure in the environment![]()
I mean, you say that, but the IP was big enough to warrant sequels and a fan base. So, yeah...Ah, yes, Marathon, the iconic science fiction universe. Such an L for Bungie to not deliver on the series unmistakeable identity.
what's your beef with geoffUghhhh
What we needed, the mafia guy comes to give us news.
I think u should check number of views on first trailer.
Well, during that era of games, you could saw the weirdest, most obscure shit such as Art Truck Battle (from Human Entertainment, Affect and Spike) get several sequels out on PS1. So having more than one game in your series doesn't mean that it's individual elements will remain distinctive enough and non-generic 30 years later.I mean, you say that, but the IP was big enough to warrant sequels and a fan base. The hilarious part is that GTA 6 is less interesting than all the other games you listedThere isn't a single game coming that isn't met with hate.
Witcher 4? Shit.
Elden Ring NR? Shit.
Duskbloods? Shit.
MGS3Delta? Shit.
About the only games that seem to have some sort of air of calmness around them or dare say hype on a mass scale seem to be GTA6, and and a possible Bloodborne remake or sequel.
There's no argument or debate here, simply an agree to disagree. There are plenty that agree with you, and plenty that don't. Yes, it has the name "Marathon" and the logo, but that's literally it. Nothing else they've shown or talked about resembles the original IP. If that's enough for you, cool.Well, during that era of games, you could saw the weirdest, most obscure shit such as Art Truck Battle (from Human Entertainment, Affect and Spike) get several sequels out on PS1. I'd argue that the striking art direction from the 2023 teaser trailer is the single, most remarkable thing about the entire Marathon IP up to this point, sitting way on top of anything that was done back in the day as part of the original trilogy of games -- of which the oxygen system might be the most notable, that being the reason why it sits at the very core of the new Marathon's design, as a risk-reward dynamic (as well as a timer) in the context of it's extraction shooter structure.
So, hey, the new Marathon is indeed a Marathon game after all.
