Hope yall have fun though.

I like the look of this as a filthy casual. Love the art style and the idea of a team based extraction game with bots as well.

Gameplay and dynamic missions look really fun.

You guys do realize Sony spent money to aquire Bungie right? And this is the result of that $3.6 billion for us gamers, generic Marathon?

A better world would be if Sony didn't canceled those games and used that $3.6 billion to invest in more single-player games.

You're jumping to conclusions on the success of this based on a small presentation?

Look its hard to predict GAAS success. Fortnite was ridiculed at launch, do you recall? Now I'm not saying its gonna be Fortnite, but I don't think its gonna be concord either. I'm sure it can find a spot in the Helldivers 2 range or Apex Legends.

I'm not the target demographic. But I can recognize that it has all the checkbox of what streamers love to play on Twitch for FPS games.

If this finds success, and I have no reasons to doubt it will because this is not concord, they make bank. Can't spell it out any simpler than this. Apex Legends with ~300k active players on Steam made $3.4B and that was almost a year ago.

No I don't think Sony will go negative on Bungie. I doubt this stopped single player games. Sony did chase GAAS with those studios though which I think might have been a mistake, you have to spot what the studio wants to work on and let them do their best. Bungie team now (nothing like Halo 1 team), seems to love MP, so you let them work MP. Naughty Dog should clearly work SP, etc.

Can't believe I have to put some common sense on a Sony game I'll likely never play.

I get the negative reception. I'm fairly disappointed.

- It looked way too fast paced, arena shootery focused.
- Outside of the Locus shield, I didn't notice a single shell ability.
- Looked completely uninterested in building tension.
- Maps looked small AF designed to prevent any mid range or long range engagements.

There's a lot of immature responses here but I interpret that as people having higher expectations than this.

Looking forward to hear from clarky clarky , James Sawyer Ford James Sawyer Ford , and MiguelItUp MiguelItUp
Oof if they are getting this reaction from you, this game is really doomed, you done f$#k up Sony

Yep. Tarkov is the gold standard extraction shooter because of that tension building during periods of exploration and reaching critical mass on contact with the enemy. Since you have to spend a lot of in-game money to equip yourself properly, and it takes time to explore and loot, the moment of conflict is an adrenaline rush.

Not seeing any of that here.

Bungie is really good at shooters and this will probably be fun enough to play but maaaaaan.. this just looks eh.

Extraction shooters are just so overdone. I'll pass

If you watch the 'live' match they showed, it doesn't seem fast paced at all, but rather tactical.
Much more tactical than I expected from the gameplay reveal and overview trailers.

Just from the top of my head, in the overview trailer they showed Glitch using one of her abilities to knock an enemy off a roof.

Probably more skills shown, because why wouldn't they?

As for the immature responses, just wait until the game performs much better than the games the whiners hype up all the time.

It's going to create meltdowns.

Not seeing these complaints at all

Did you watch the stream? Snipers all over the place

No idea why people are so down on this. It looks great. Vibe and art style reminds me of 90s shooters like System Shock and of course the original Marathon, mixed in with shades of Mirror's Edge and the skyboxes Bungie are known for. People are just completely allergic to color now.
The visuals are pretty clean but my issue is that the gameplay doesn't add anything to the genre.

All the footage was edited, i expect a lot more downtime than what we saw. Especially with 18 player maps.

I don't mind the art style given the OG games looking like this but I was expecting a bit more than just extraction shooter generic like.

It's a shame but during the run up to this stream and seeing all the pink hairs waving I think it's safe to say where most of the budget went.

Will report back as soon as I tune in. The divisiveness makes me even more curious TBH. 👀

I'll definitely be looking into everything they release but I've watched everything shown thus far and I'm pretty unimpressed.

This doesn't mean I think it looks bad or it'll be Concord 2.0, but my reaction is true. I wanted to love this game.
Color me surprised. It's exactly what I was expecting. If anything they've leaned more into the hardcore side of things.

What didn't hit for you?

I kinda like the idea of the artstyle, but the execution is not that great, it just turned into neon-blob and all of the "hacker effects" all over the UI all the time doesn't really help. Gameplay seems really high action compared to EFT, they should really just post 20-30m unedited videos of what the average raid looks like. What makes this genre fun is the risk of losing all your stuff (and making someone else lose theirs), if the average player effectively die every raid your game isn't an extraction shooter, it's just a BR.

Hold up

The best extraction shooter was a little mode inside of a PVE game called The Dark Zone from Div 1

Looks bland. They have Destiny, they don't need to make another multiplayer focused game in a crowded market that they themselves saturated. They should have used the Marathon IP to create an FPS with a great single player campaign like Halo, something which barely exists these days.

Looks like I expected. I dont know why people are that negative about it. Seems ... fine. Good art design. Gameplay looks similar to their other stuff.

Not for me really but I'll try it if its f2p for a few hours.

Listen I get why they did it. They need a game with little updating compared to Destiny to get cash. Skins, dlc everywhere. Hopefully it does enough to keep them afloat until there next new full PVE game. If they choose to go this path of pvp primarily in the future, that's fine too. Destiny will always be one of my favorite series. Can't blame them from moving on, times and the studio has changed so they have to adapt some.

Well it definitely isn't going to take the world by storm.

And how do you not even make me interested in the story of this world ?
Still will be a success but no way HELLDIVERS 2. Nope.

They should tweak the safety measures to keep a loadout like Tarkov I think, seems early player impressions is their current system now is creating frustrations
