He lost it to Rock two months later, actually. Rock only won it to transition to Brock anyway, since Taker was a heel at the time and Brock had to win it from a top face.

Showdown in the Sun: Day 2 - the announcement that ROH and CHIKARA were working together to promote a pair of shows entitled 'Synergy' later in the year has had unforseen consequences, as tempers flared when during a Proving Ground match the ROH Tag Champs, The Briscoe Brothers, attempted to remove the mask of Hallowicked, which is seen as the ultimate disrespect in CHIKARA. Several CHIKARA roster members luckily made the save, but then at the 10th Anniversary Show CHIKARA Grand Champion Eddie Kingston was interrupted mid-speech by Kevin Steen, whose words engraged The War King and prompted a wild brawl between ROH and CHIKARA roster members. Two of those men will now face off, as 'Technical Lightning' TJ Perkins takes on Fire Ant of the Colony. Then, in a meeting of former tag partners, Kyle O'Reilly goes up against Adam Cole. The two men, known collectively as 'Future Shock', were casualties of the bad blood between ROH World Champ Davey Richards and his former tag partner Eddie Edwards. O'Reilly, the protoge of Richards, sided with his mentor, while Cole decided to turn his back on O'Reilly and join up with Eddie Edwards and now Cole & O'Reilly face off in singles competition. In the second 'Dual Duel' match of the weekend, The All-Night Express again take on The Young Bucks, but this time the stipulation has been chosen by the Bucks, and it will be a Tornado Tag match! Afterwards, The Briscoe Brothers, Jay & Mark, will defend their ROH World Tag Team Titles against former champions Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin, Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team. Since The Briscoes recaptured the titles from Haas & Benjamin, tensions have been rising between the two teams, with WGGT being fined and suspened by ROH for viciously attacking The Briscoes with chairs, while The Briscoes got a measure of revenge by costing WGGT a match against Coleman & Alexander on ROH TV. Now the self-proclaimed Greatest Tag Team take on #DemBoys, The Briscoes, for the ROH Tag Team gold. And finally, in a unique concept ROH are calling 'Blind Destiny', the participants in the previous evening's Triple Threat ROH World Title match will each compete in a singles match against predetermined opponents, but which match is for the ROH World Title is entirely dependent on the Triple Threat's outcome. The potential title matches will be; Roderick Strong vs Jay Lethal, Eddie Edwards vs Kevin Steen and Davey Richards vs Michael Elgin.

Still have yet to see Steen/Generico or Richards/Edwards/Strong thanks to GFL's fuck-up (apparently, they are incapable of fixing it, due to being on the west coast and needing their beauty sleep), but I'm still watching this live. Hopefully it won't have the same problems as yesterday's bush league broadcast.

I wouldn't strictly agree, as under the current leadership they're 3-2 on iPPVs - Best in the World, DBDIX and the 10th Anniversary Show had very little technical issues. I think the biggest problem is that there should have been a real boost in production values under Sinclair, as promised, but it's just not there.

Also, if this is the level of service we're going to get with GFL, ROH should really be looking to imitate Dragon Gate and run their own iPPVs.

Dave Finlay is back with WWE as an agent and officially started again with the company this weekend. Finlay will be finishing his independent commitments over the next several weeks.

We've gotten one report that Terry Taylor, who is expected to come in and work with WWE's developmental system, is at the WWE hotel in Miami as well.

WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young is also in Miami and appeared this morning at AXXESS in a segment where she got into it with John Laurinaitis after Tedy Long introduced her.

Here's how they got around the bandwidth issues from yesterday; no 3000kbps stream, 1000kbps & 500kbps only, and no 16:9, only 4:3 - lol.

Jimmy Jacobs is out in his Age of the Fall gear, seems like we've got an impromptu Jacobs vs Generico match to kick things off!

Really hope Cole wins. It's funny, as they tried booking Cole as the heel initially, but O'Reilly's such a whiny little bitch I just want to see Cole beat the shit out of him.

ROH just can't catch a break this weekend.

*edit, the stream STILL isn't back up - ROH & GFL are saying it's a power outage, fans in the building are tweeting that's bullshit. Fuck knows what's going on.

It's really a fricken disaster. Total injustice the ineptitude of production this company has.

Piss poor audio and lagged all to hell on Day 1.
Eventually put a stream of Day 1's matches online only to leave out the ending of the Generico vs. Steen match and the entire triple threat main event.
And now a brownout fucking things up at the event itself on Day 2.

Everyone involved should be fired.
Sinclair has done absolutely nothing to help and, if anything, the iPPVs have been worse since they took over.

So dirt sheets are saying WWE rehired David Finlay as a Agent.


Kind of felt bad he got the shaft for screwing up a house show segment.


Hope he his put back in charge of the women's division again so it wont be a complete embarrassment

Yeah, they've clarified now - the building still has power, but the generator that they use to power the iPPV gear has stopped working.

This is truly abysmal weekend for ROH, and while a lot of that isn't on the company personally, it's a whole lot of shitty timing for this to happen during their biggest weekend of the year.

Yeah, this weekend has really been a perfect storm of shitty luck for ROH - oh well.

The stream's back up now - came back just in time to hear Kevin Kelly take the show to intermission, lol. We missed the entirety of Cole vs O'Reilly.

*edit, back from intermission - ANX vs Bucks street fight is up next.

With TNA going round in circles, and ROH failing at every turn, WWE have very little reason to step up thier game.

This time four years ago, I was sure there would be at least some decent competition by now

The people with the money aren't the people with the sort of wrestling, booking and identity that could potentially challenge WWE, or even be a blip on their radar. TNA were the only hope and look how that's turned out.

Briscoes retain over WGTT, but Haas & Benjamin put on a beat down post-match - OK match, nothing really outstanding.

I really don't know how much further they can go with WGTT vs The Briscoes and, tbh, I'm getting kinda sick of this feud.

Edwards vs Steen is up next!
