It's really good to hear that there as just 6 stones to choose from. If they do it right, it sounds like it could be more of an x-factor system than a SFxT gems ones.

you mean the part where they crushed the gem and got a giant glowing aura like x-factor that would visually indicate what buff/gem is being applied like x-factor

and the part where you get to specifically select the gem you have as to customize your team?

In my defense, I've never played MSH. MvC2 and MvC3 is my exposure to the MvC series. I imagine a lot of people haven't touched MSH either and their primary/most recent experience with Capcom and GEMZZZZ is SFxT.

Yeah would make sense. Soul Gem could regenerate health faster, Power makes you hit like a truck, etc

So if these gems give different power, then maybe

Power Gem= Increased Damage
Time Gem= Slow down battle (something like Amaterasu's super for mvc3)

UMVC3 on PC with a community led balance patch would be godlike.

Plus more costumes and even characters... sooo good

2v2 is fine as it was pretty fun in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. I'm just happy to see that it didn't take another 10 years for a MvC sequel to come out

So my question is... Are the X-MEN actually confirmed to not be making an appearance or is that still speculation? Kinda like how we wwerent show whether or not Spidey would be in MVC3?


I just need my Black Panther x Storm team up.

I love MVC to death, but this first reveal is kind of worrisome to me:

  • First off, the reveal trailer looks worse than the MVC3 one. What's up with that? Doesn't inspire confidence
  • Looks like the 'No Fox Characters' rumors were true, which is a bummer.
  • Gem system? Really? I'm having my SFxT nightmares again, oh boy.
  • 2v2? I know MVC has done that before, but the latest iterations have worked well with 3v3, which in turn rewards the player for experimentation and creativity in a way I think 2v2 doesn't (because of the extra assists and tags)
I don't want to be a downer on this dream of a reveal, but it almost feels as if it's a casualized version of MVC, catered to the MCU loving crowd that doesn't crave fighting games. It wouldn't surprise me if it were F2P, for example. I hope I'm wrong by the time the gameplay trailer rolls out later, but I was expecting something different than what's been revealed so far and, in my mind, better.

Edit: But, I'll always have UMVC3... which is now on PS4! YES!

YES. Now the question is..do I buy it tonight on ps4 or wait until March for the PC version? Also has a price been revealed yet?

If it's anything like MSH, Power = damage, Time = speed, Space = defense,, Reality = special attacks, Soul = health, Mind = meter

Timed exclusive BS is really dumb. I will probably wait for the Steam release next year so don't have to sub to PS+
