It's not as unlikely as you'd think. Capcom probably doesn't make that much money from DLC characters anyway thanks to Fight Money being a thing. So as long as there's another Character Pass to sell for the actual Season 3, it wouldn't make too much of a difference for Capcom either way from a financial perspective.

Mmm....I don't buy it. Wolverine as the only X-Men rep? That to me is a red flag.


Otherwise, that is a solid DLC roster if it turns out to be true.

Yeah, you'd imagine that we'd at least get Deadpool alongside Wolverine.

I'm with IntelliHeath on this one. The /r/Kappa post is probably a mix of legit leaks & bullshit, with the MvCI part being mostly the latter.

Not gonna lie Jawmuncher, seeing Regina in the list immediatedly made me assume the "leaker" frequents GAF and added her to a fake list to taunt you.

Its believeable. They can just trickle X-Men characters through future DLC packages to get people to bite reflexively on them.

Kinda weird that Venom is listed as a character but none of the other implicated leaked characters are.

Not gonna lie if those characters get into MvCI that'd kick ass - which is why I'm skeptical about it.

Wolverine being the only X-Men character isn't hard to believe. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel don't even want to add more X-Men characters and are just adding Wolverine as the bare minimum.

You must not know about Fight Money then. You can purchase DLC characters via this (for free) and no other company is doing this as far as I'm aware. I've said this before, I think four free fighters is pushing it but one/two is likely.

I'm assuming he's referring to post-2017 DLC characters (which would mean that Season 1 really is all newcomers). Regardless, I'm still hesitant to believe the guy's MvCI intel.

One free fighter I could see, but not four or five. That shit is crazy and means Capcom has a silly amount of a warchest just able to be used.

I'm not sure if I would agree with that. I'm thinking about those four characters being free coming with Arcade Mode, Extra Battle, etc, etc. Capcom being generous for once ever since Season 1? It's plausible.

I meant not many people would buy a Season Pass for those four characters anyway.

Well, you have to consider the fact that they probably already planned the characters for Season Pass 2018 before they lifted the ban so I guess Wolverine and Doom are being thrown into this to attract the players. Again, I think it's bullshit anyway.

Given all the rumors surrounding Monster Hunter & Capcom saying "no comment" when asked about her being playable, she's probably gonna be in Season 1.

Deis, basically is referencing the rumor that Ershin was gonna be on MVC3.

Some of the stuff in that list is probably true but it's stuff that people are hypothesizing anyway. Like people have been guessing Lady in MVCI for a while now.

This goes far beyond SFV, which is just a reaction to getting caught in the whole SFxT fiasco. RE5, 6, Revelations 2 are just the few I can remember that had DLC that was full of shit that should have just been in the game itself.

EDIT: Also, I'm sure they added that feature into V mostly because they knew people weren't going to be willing to pay for that many characters down the line that they may not even want in the game. I can't see many of us actually shelling out money on a whim for Abigail. I'm just saying...

It's definitely a smart decision considering their they chose to chop up the game itself in the first place.

Putting both Lady and Regina in would be weird too considering they are occupying a very similar space in terms of playstyle. I wouldn't mind but it's another thing to take into consideration.

To be fair, we have both Captain Marvel & Nova.

For the record, I'm the least optimistic about the MvCI stuff panning out.

I think the list has some credit. The characters are defined as being in development. Perhaps the S1 characters are past the development stage, and in to the polishing/refinement stage. They are just being very specific about the wording. Maybe I'm reaching here, but maybe I'm not. I'm a glass half full kind of person, despite the situation.

Regina with Jill's moveset but with dino summoning would be pretty different.
Even still they could take a lot of liberties with Regina's moveset.

Best Regina playstyle would be crafting Tranquilizers of different types as her unique mechanic. She could be a more advance status infliction characters. Dino summons too I guess, mostly to help her buy time to craft items.
