Even if PSP was at 2.5m at the end of 2005, selling more than 1.5m units in 5 months means 300k monthly sales on average in Europe. I think even PS2 couldn't do that in the past, but anyway.ioi said:I think 4m in Europe is about right. 5m in the us and 3.5m in Japan

DS and PSP difference in sales is more than 5.5m units for sure. DS is ahead of PSP by 5m units in Japan alone.
As I said 12.5m for PSP and 18.5m - 19m for DS seems about right.

Your NA sales numbers are too high for both handhelds. Actually Nintendo has SHIPPED 5.11m DS units by the end of March (I assume 5.5m by now), and for clarify things a bit more, according to latest NPD figures sales of DS and PSP in US are:ioi said:We'll agree to slightly disagree then

If we consider Canada and also May sales, both handhelds struggle to reach 5m mark.

I can't seem to find sales for Golden Week of May. Could we just post ALL hardware sales data for May 1 through May 28?
I have no data from May 7 - 14, and the one I find on magicbox is equal to my April 17 - 23 sales so I don't know which one to figure out

I believe ioi previously compared NSMB's first week to Chrono Trigger and Street Fighter II. CT went from 894K to 337K and ended up slightly over 2 million. SFII went from 977K to 348K and ended up slightly below 2.9 million.JavyOO7 said:Kind of a large drop for Mario.

ioi said:it's a slow time of the year. Everything got a boost last week (on DS) because of Mario, I don't think you can really expect a lot more this week.
330k for NSMB is a good second week, and puts it around the top 15 second weeks ever I'd have thought, and a lot of the games above are either Pokemon or Dragon Quest!

What does the 'other' column suggest? The PSP has sold at least 300K in Korea alone, maybe even 400K-500K as of September 2005, pre-christmas, and their plan was to sell 500K before march, but they've boosted that figure. Another 200K were sold in Taiwan through April '06. almost 40K PSPs were sold through September 11, '05, and Sony expected 330-380K sold (After revised expectations) through Marchkia said:13.5m sold through for PSP?
I think it's less than 12.5m by now.
Japan ~ 3.5m
NA ~ 5m
Europe ~ 3.5m (at best)
Other ~ 0.5m

Total ~ 12.5m
