It is Comgnet though, Last Ranker is on PSP and Capcom is a much better publisher than MMV. Ghost Trick didn't appear at all before it came out.duckroll said:Holy crap. Last Ranker is tracking way below World Destruction and 7th Dragon, and on the same level as Arc Rise Fantasia. Total bomba. Fate/Extra is going to rape it so hard in terms of sales. Crazy. MMV licensed animu crap with really bad trailers totally outselling a high production Capcom brand new JRPG with stellar staff. There is no justice.

Any chance of seeing a new, current-gen Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is one of my personal favorite RPGs ever, and I've been dying to see a follow-up or anything in the BOF universe that isn't a remake for DS. Gimme the scoop.
Keiji Inafune: There are currently no plans on making a new Breath of Fire game. Apart from that, regarding RPG titles, they are very popular in Japan, but only certain RPG titles sell so Capcom doesn't really need to even consider making these titles as an option. There's a low possibility that we'll be making one in the near future. But, I realize that there are fans of the series, and we have staff who are interested so it's not out of the question. We actually have a lot of titles in a similar situation, where there's an interest by users and our staff, but where we just don't have the resources. Square Enix and Namco Bandai have 1,200 development staff but we only have 600. There's a lot more that we want to do, titles that would probably sell well if we made them, but we just don't have enough staff.

Not with the numbers we have. There must be many tens of thousands unsold brand new copies at the Japanese retailers.DarkMehm said:Didn't DQVII ship 4,15 million? No, he is right about shipments, but DQVII is massivelly overshipped. That number for DQVII was also confirmed by Wada but I can't find the article.duckroll said:I think you're confusing DQVII with DQIX. DQIX got a press release from S-E when it shipped 4.15 million, and it said that was a new milestone for the series. Clearly there is no way DQVII could have shipped 4.15 million otherwise it would not be a new milestone for DQIX to have shipped that much.
DQVII came out in August 2000. By the end of December 2001, it had sold 3.892 million copies. It did not chart in the yearly charts ever again. Top300 for 2002 and 2003 end with about 30k sales on the 300th titles. Top500 for 2004 ends with about 16k. So even if DQVII was #301 in 2002 and 2003, and #501 in 2004 (all of this is very unlikely), it would not have sold 4 million copies.
