If the PSN release would only satisfy a bunch of suckers, how would the lines be affected anyway?
It is precisely because the PSP can play both UMD and DDL games that Capcom was wise not to do a PSN release. PSP owners will be satisfied with the UMD release. Go owners have no other alternative, so as long as the Capcom hype machine remains in play, the only true benefit they have to gain out of a PSN release is releasing it for all 140K PSP Go owners.
If there had been a PSN release, would I have gone to Bic Camera at 7:30 after waking up at 5:30? Of course not, and I bet many people felt the same way, especially to those who were rejected at the shop doors. Having lines that exceeded Pokemon BW and DQIX is positive PR for Capcom and is surely not going to be surpassed anytime soon.
In case you didn't get the hint, I believe that all PSP games should be on PSN and UMD on the same day, just like I advocate dual iTunes and CD releases. But for marketing reasons that I can fully understand, this isn't the reality. As a PSP Go launch owner... that is pretty lame. I personally feel like a bit of a sucker having bought the PSP Go myself! :lol

There was probably an understanding from that point on that if the game was not playable on the PSP Go, there would be some serious questions asked about Konami's perception to the public.
That would make Konami a company of its word... unlike Capcom. RE Portable made with PSP Go in mind... :lol
