Dqx surely disappointed. Every expansion used to sell 100k on wiiu. To sell a bit more than 50k on two more platforms is bad.

Although it's the First time that i remember that a switch version of the game sold better than the PS4 one.

My apologies, a problem with the date for Assassin's Creed when extracting data from 4gamer prevented this thread from being posted earlier. I'll be making some improvements/modifications to the script to use data less strictly.

There have been other instances. Lego games are an example that comes to mind.

This order is the reverse of what I was expecting. I'm surprised to see the Wii U version staying strong. Looking at the sell-through numbers, it seems that Square Enix may have been expecting the PS4 version to perform best.

In other news, 3DS hardware sales have well and truly dried up. Maybe it'll push on to a bit more than 24 million.

Seeing the 3DS still selling decently in year 7 is odd. Who the hell doesn't have one over there?

While the Switch is certainly selling well, last year's 3DS sales show that even higher numbers should be possible. Not that there was any doubt about it, but that proves once again that Switch is still severely limited by supply. It makes me curious about the biggest sales weeks of December - can Nintendo ship 200k+ systems per week or are we looking at an extreme scarcity during this important time of the year?

Zelda continuously selling about 6k units each week makes me happy. :) I hated when Phantom Hourglass became kind of a sales phenomenon in Japan, such a bad game selliing so well. This time a franchise entry deserving those sales is getting them. It'll be a long crawl, but BotW reaching 1m in Japan would be fantast and reward Nintendo'd risk of re-imagining the series.

I kept looking, but MH:XX is truly gone from the media-create charts. Barely staying in Famitsu's top30. It's hard not to feel some Schadenfreude towards Capcom, but they probably feel vindicated putting MHW on everything BUT the Switch. Really wondering about when they'll finally start supporting the Switch, properly at that. Expecting Okami HD Switch for June 2018, so Capcpom can rip off fans via double dipping.

Well, the 3DS is still supported by Nintendo, while the Vita has been abandoned by Sony for a long time, so not that surprising. But it's quit the feat indeed.

The biggest problem with vita right now is that the 3rd party publishers finally abandoned him in favor of the PS4 and (lesser scale) Switch.

And the system is old. Sometime it's gotta go.

But still, it did quite well for what it was. No one can say the vita was a failure in Japan.

It's an MMO releasing its 4th version. Wii version is no longer supported (free upgrade to Switch earlier), and Wii U had its DQX base established much earlier (they had big discounts to upgrade from Wii to Wii U in 2013).. v3 sold close to 100K on Wii U.

Sadly it looks like this is a huge decline from v3 overall.

Sadly it looks like this is a huge decline from v3 overall.

If i remember right, both Wii and wiiu versions sold more than 100k, so it's a huge drop and i dont know why. Square must've messed up big at something. I used to play the game and love It, but i dont have the wiiu anumore. Dont know If the game changed much.

But expected.

The one game I'm worrying about is Xenoblade 2 (who'd have thunk!). I hope it can break 200k by a noticeable margin, but chances are it'll slug around 150k like its predecessors.

The quality Tales of-esque artstyle for characters as well as the inclusion of many different artists is the big wild card. And the fact that this is the first Xenoblade to release on a healthy enthusiasts' system.

Yes it's an MMO that released several years ago and continues to be updated. It's like FF11 and FF14. DQ11, which released 4 months ago is your typical single player DQ game.

Tadaima - You left some Japanese in the Famitsu entries for the Sims 4 and Valhalla (I think in Valhalla's case you forgot to translate the publisher too?).
