Metro Redux - Announcement Trailer

49.99 for 2 remastered games and all of its DLC?

Take some notes ND and Crystal Dynamics.

Missed these games on PS3, will pick this up.

I KNEW IT! A fully dynamic day\night cycle!

I knew there was a reason for it in the LL DLC!!! They were testing it and teasing us with it!

Yup im in. I already bought these on the PC during steam sales but I never played them because my backlog is tremendous on the PC, I will double dip for these on the PS4 because I want to show support for these guys.

God damn, they seem so excited about it! That's awesome. I will certainly pick these up, and I never got around to finishing Last Light.

You better come out before the Destiny beta, though

Metro Redux includes Metro 2033 (for the first time ever on a PlayStation platform) and Metro: Last Light, remastered for PlayStation 4, with all the gameplay, AI, gunplay, and graphical improvements we added in Last Light now applied to both games.

I'm definitely buying it when I get a current gen system, loved both games and I'd like to play 2033 with all the improvements that Last Light brought.

Hoping that the AI in stealth sections is fixed (both in 2033 and LL).. but brand new content to many of the levels, new locations, silent takedowns in 2033, cutscenes and quick time events overhauled completely, new day/night cycling, etc. all sounds fantastic

Weird that it's PC too. I assume they're just selling a bundle with both games plus DLC as a kind of GOTY edition.

Err, as they mention, they're backporting a lot of LL enhancements to 2033, so that's something we've definitely never seen on PC before.

As for LL, yeah, I'm not sure if there's going to be too many differences. We can hope for a Ranger Mode refactor, at least.

edit: holy fuck, scratch that last.

Metro: Last Light Redux has also received a graphical facelift and gameplay improvements that carry across both titles, including new melee animations, and the fan-requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. It also includes all previously released Season Pass add-on content – a further 10 hours of single-player gameplay.

The lack of a 'Check Inventory' feature was the single thing that made Ranger Mode so broken. This is fantastic news.

PSBlog claims retail version is $50, 1080p/60 on PS4.

I hate having to hope that this is 100% accurate. After the whole Watch Dogs debacle... Gotta be a little skeptical of psblog. No, I'm going to go ahead and assume that they fucked it up once and have learned their lesson. 1080p/60fps! Hurray! I can get down with the price too.

Edit: I'm also happy to see "summer" though I'm wary of course that it will be a very late summer, as most "summer" releases seem to be. I need something to play during those summer doldrums.

Both are fan-fucking tastic games

If you ain't go squat to play on your Xbone/Ps4 (assuming you don't have access to a high end PC) then I'd say pick em both up.

Gonna pick up Last Light again.

It's not the psblog, the devs are claiming this.

$25? that is a good price. Wish more PS4/Xbox One/etc current gen ports were priced as such. Makes some of the other recent and upcoming ports a little over priced in comparison.

I have Last Light on PS+, so I'll likely get first one for PS4

Watch Dogs was a promotional banner issue this is direct from the developers and from the press that went to the event to see it. Seems to have a lot more backing than something that was unsubstantiated promotional material.

I like the price options. Never played either, what is the best one?

Metro Last Light was pretty disappointing for me. Metro 2033 was really rough around the edges, but I really enjoyed it. I think they swung to far the other direction trying to fix some of the problems with it.

The stealth sections in Metro 2033 were pretty broken. If you were spotted by AI then everyone knew exactly where you were. In Last Light the AI is incredibly dumb, as long as you are in shadows you are invisible to the enemy. So basically you just walk through all human sections, which seem to make up the majority of the game. I used the silenced pistol or knife 90% of the game.

The Ranger Hardcore mode was also pretty bad. Nothing seemed scarce, so it was basically just harder enemies and HUD removal. The HUD stuff was stupid because they also didn't show QTEs, so I would die not knowing I was supposed to hit anything, so basically during all cinematic scenes you should just be mashing the use key.

Obviously not 1080p on X1 or they would have announced it in the blanket PR release. 60fps is a lock on X1 though, so Id say maybe 900p(?).

Might just grab this on PS4, will get the boxed version as it looks nice, but I really like how they offer the games separate digitally.

I got the original metro when I purchased my video card. It ran like garbage but I was always intrigued with the first 30 minutes that I played.

I may pick up the first one at 24.99 and see if I enjoy it.

Will buy on x1 if atleast 900p@60fps..

It is according to Polygon.

Beynon said the console versions are expected to run at 60 frames per second. The PS4 version will run at 1080p resolution, with the Xbox One running at 900p.

Also a bit more details about the changes in Metro 2033. Sounds great.

Metro 2033 is getting an all-new lighting engine and performs better on lower end PC hardware, Beynon said. It will also borrow a few gameplay elements from Last Light, adding the option to wipe your character's mask clean of condensation or blood splatter, as well as introduce new combat improvements — like stealth takedowns — and weapon customization. 2033's cinematics have been redone and are now presented in first-person perspective.

With the added horsepower and memory of new-generation consoles, Metro 2033 is also getting more level detail in Redux. The game will feature day and night cycles, and levels will boast greater visual fidelity. Some have even been expanded or connected; the "Dead City" section in Metro 2033, which was originally spread across two levels, will be a single level in the remaster.

I'm happy to hear that. It was a one-off mistake regardless as far as I can tell, so I'm not really that skeptical. It's probably not only PSBlog's fault anyway given how many other press folks were coming out with random Watch Dogs resolutions at the time which they claimed were coming from the devs. I'm sure it is 1080p/60fps. Like I said, I'm sure whoever was responsible probably got a good talking to and folks are being more careful about verifying with the devs.

If you own a PS4 get this game. Jesus.

Both games for this? 1080p and apparently 60fps`? Sounds fantastic.

I think I will get the PC version!

How is this gonna work exactly? I have Metro 2033 and LL in Steam. But I've never played Metro 2033.

Should I just buy Metro 2033 Redux for PC?

This will invariably run much better than 2033. It will play slightly differently though.

I haven't played either Metro, but own them both on PC. Should I just wait for these and then play them, or just play them now instead? :P

played it on the PS3 so I wont double dip, but the price is very very fair for me.

They just have to give the MP they promised will come later ;)

Will have to get this!! I remember some pretty horrific AI previously, really hope they've sorted that out. I'm sure it wont be but CrossBuy would be nice for the PS4 version.
