Kimbrel >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rodney
A-Rod says hello.
I'm not a fan either. I think it should at least be a 3-game series. This 1-game play-in setup is stupid.i dont like the dual wild card system
That's not Mariano.
This man would like a word with you.

Alright Rays. Keep them shut down. I wanna see Fernando Rodney one last time - best year for a reliever in the history of baseball.
No. Literally, his ERA is lower. They both had a 0.61 ERA. But Rodney has pitched more innings so its 0.605 and Eck was at 0.614
That's really high for a reliever.Shows you how stupid sabermetrics can be, his WAR for this season is only 3.7. Umm, sure.
Eck's WHIP was .170 lower though and he had a... 18.25 K/BB ratio? Wait, that can't be right. Must be 8.25, right? No. Literally, his ERA is lower. They both had a 0.61 ERA. But Rodney has pitched more innings so its 0.605 and Eck was at 0.614

Nope not a stadium full. They tarped the upper deck lolololol
I refuse to believe that, the mind cannot comprehend.no 18.25 is right
he had 4 walks to 73 strike outs lol

ECK

That's ridiculous for a reliever to have, usually the best top out at 3.0-3.2. Rivera's highest WAR since he became a full-time reliever is 3.3.

Edit: Also 100 career complete games and 390 saves. How did I not know this?!
For a reliever that pitches less than 100 innings a year, it's hard to affect games that much. Just because a closer saves X games a year, it doesn't mean he was responsible for X wins since the team had to take the lead and keep the lead through 8+ innings before the closer gets 3 outs to ice the game. Since most relievers nowadays don't pitch much more than 1 inning per appearance, their contribution to a particular win is pretty small (relative to the starting pitcher and starting position players).Which is why it shows how ridiculous sabermetrics can be sometimes. The thought that he only accounted for 3.7 wins over a replacement is absurd.
Well, I knew of the saves (though not the exact number), but I was clueless that he had 100 CGs.Lol Eck is one of the best pitchers of all time. It is known.
congrats on the divisionfuck baseball. brandi was right
lol nvmWho all is getting their Athletic's AL West division champ gear? I am!

Or Heath Bell.Unless you're John Axford.
unfortunately
congrats on the firings and tradesYeahhhh.
you are a joke because you are making a fool of yourselfyeah I'm a joke because I don't but into all this sabermetrics bullshit.
congrats on the firings and trades
Still the best Red Sox season since 2008.
Perhaps I should rephrase. You can't positively affect your team's chances that much when pitching less than 100 innings. Similar to how a manager has minimal positive effect with in game management but can really fuck you over with egregious decisions.Unless you're John Axford.
