Modern AAA Games vs 2000s AAA Games

A lot of games in that era were made with the tech's full potential and without any of that woke agenda element mixed in so people just focus all their attention on trying to make a good game for the sake of making a good game. There's still a good amount of current gen games made with a lot of care and work like Space Marine 2, Rift Apart, Rebirth etc.

What a dumb video. It's not hard to handpick shitty modern AAA games and compare them to the best 2000s AAA games and complain about it.
Now let's compare, say Astro Bot to Banjo Kazooie. Or Baldur's Gate 3 to Baldur's Gate 2. Or Tears of the Kingdom to Twilight Princess. Or Elden Ring to the original Demon's Souls. Or Uncharted 4 to the original Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Or Red Dead Redemption II to Red Dead Revolver. Or, well, literally endless other examples.
It's so easy to say "mODeRn gAmiNg sUcKs" if you're literally ignoring all of the great modern games and cherry picking the very best old games to compare them to.

Classic Tomb Raider titles had an identity whereas modern Tomb Raider is just an Uncharted clone which is funny considering Uncharted's obvious inspirations. While the old control mechanisms might be hard to back to, maybe even impossible, I'd take that over zero stakes platforming which is all sizzle and no steak.

The video is nitpicky in that it does not show the best games, but it is still pretty fun to see how regressive many of today's games are.
