I don't understand why people feel the need to recreate these things in America; at cons, in cities, or wherever. The "allure" (sigh) of those places in Japan is to ogle Japanese girls in ridiculous costumes doing dumb things. Things that are decidedly Japanese . The strangeness is somehow amplified when its emulated somewhere else.....especially here.
Maids may address customers as "master" or "my princess" as they do in Japan.
The maids, who go by their chosen character names for safety, are afficionados of all things anime.
