The Windows taskbar is already destroying this OLED monitor after 9 months lol
idk what kind of trash qd oleds are but I have lg c1 in usage for almost 4 years now (march 2021) and 10k hours.
no burn in at all.
Just use desktop at SDR and hdr in hdr.
No point doing mode than 100-120 nits in sdr content or running it in hdr

It's not LG vs other brands.Trash? LG's are burning in just as fast, if not faster on RTINGS. These tests are not based on normal use.
I tested. There is no burn out at all. Not even a sign. Tested the patters in sdr and hdr. Nothing.Maybe not all that visible depending on what you're watching, but could still be burn in nevertheless.
Also I'm sure RTINGS/etc. have a more quantifiable way of determining if a screen has burn-in vs the tried and true "trust me bro" approach.
He's intentionally trying to burn the monitor by skipping all of the mitigations.idk what kind of trash qd oleds are but I have lg c1 in usage for almost 4 years now (march 2021) and 10k hours.

I've been using a QDOLED as my work monitor for the past 18 months and I also have no burn-in. The only mitigations I use (outside of sleep mode) are autohiding the taskbar and having the system switch backgrounds every now and then. It's otherwise 99% a work monitor (that I occasionally play video games on) and there's still no hint of any retention.

maybe my next purchase if they will make 42-48 4k models. if not, c5,6,7,8 whatever for meQD-OLED monitors ftw
I mean he's just using it for his daily office work, he's not displaying CNN on a loop like RTings is doingFeel like the op is missing the point of the video. Hence the big words saying ON PURPOSE. Aka no pixel refresh or panel maintenance.
I don't think they do.maybe my next purchase if they will make 42-48 4k models. if not, c5,6,7,8 whatever for me
By the time I bought my 15 Pro Max my 13 Pro Max had already burned in the top icons. Clearly visible with a grey background.I'm on an iPhone 12 Pro that I've had over 4 years, used it a lot, never done any special treatment, and it doesn't have any burn in.
My OLED Switch doesn't either.
But then seeing stuff like this makes me nervous about getting a large OLED like a monitor or a TV...
We've uploaded the 18-month results to each review. There's very little that's new to report this month; most of the LED TVs on the test are continuing to degrade (especially edge-lit models, more on that in a few days!). All OLED TVs are now showing signs of permanent burn-in. The Samsung S95C OLED remains the most resilient of the OLED models, showing only slight signs of burn-in.
