And the funeral/memorial is this weekend.

I've been down all week and my cousin will be picking me up tomorrow.

This might sound stupid, but could y'all post funny things? Videos, songs, stand up, movie scenes (not full movies), pictures, memes... I just want to smile more than the 3 times I have so far.

Today I had a 6th grader that heard a joke from a high schooler and then asked me if I could tell him why it was funny.

So there are two whales in the ocean, one male and one female, and they see a large whaling ship. The male gets really upset and says “That’s the ship that killed my grandmother, we should blow air out of our blow holes really hard and knock it over.” So the two whales go and blow really hard and knock the boat over. Then they see the sailors swimming away to safety and the male says, “This makes me mad that they’re getting away, we should eat them!” The female says, “Listen, you had me with the blow job, but I’m not swallowing seamen.”

I told my 6th grader that he needed to ask his parents about that one.

I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m truly sorry for your loss, man. I hope as many of your and your dad’s loved ones can make it to the funeral so you can all be there to support one another. Stay strong and don’t be afraid to talk to who you need to.

One group I’ve quickly fallen in love with their content is the Weekly Planet podcast. You can find their all main podcast videos on Yotube, as well as their Caravan of Garbage videos which are very funny and informative to me (note: the “Garbage” part of the title is meaningless, they cover all movies whether they like them or not). Just two British guys, James and Mason, being goofy and discussing movies, games, TV shows, and comics.

I read the title and when I clicked I saw the thumbnail of McGregor laughing before I got a chance to read the text... I seriously thought the worst at first and felt horrible cuz I almost laughed at the audacity.

Apart from that I hope you feel better, a great father for sure if his passing away has made you sad.

Lost mine one year ago nearly to the T. It sucks man. When you say something that he would have loved or smiled at, or something that you know would've made him giggle. You taste something that reminds you of the way he made it or liked it, and wish he was here just to eat with him and laugh again. Holidays have a somber feeling to them, because you remember them with him, and it feels unfair to smile without him in a way.

It hurts bro. Let it hurt, it's supposed to, it just shows how much you loved him. Honor his memory, and cherish it. We only have each other for a short portion of the journey, and then we have to finish it without them, and our children have to march on without us. It's a bitter cycle of misery and unknown fears, this life, but it's punctuated with moments of intense beauty and joy. Try to capture those moments and hold them, they're fleeting, as is this life, but they make all this worthwhile.

I'm sorry for your loss brother, but clearly, the man left a mark and he will be missed. Love from Maine my friend.
