Sad to hear that about Galga ... I haven't fired it up yet.

I'm thinking about getting populus. I played that on PC yearrrs ago and it was awesome.

Debating katamari.

Debating katamari? Get it. Game of the generation for me.

I shudder to think of the localization we could have got instead of the perfect one we did get.

I picked up:
Gravity Rush
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection
Breath of Fire IV
Katamari Damacy
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Klonoa

Don't understand the love for Wild Arms. The only reason I think that game gets any nostalgic love is because it came out before Final Fantasy 7. The story just feels like an early NES RPG. The 3D during the battle scenes is just archaic. It would have been better had they just kept the whole game 2D.

I like it. Its cute, clean and just plays nicely. Very comfort food game. Like lunar. And i think its graphics have aged better than ff7.

Most likely never. The rumor is that the Stallion boss which looks like Ultraman most likely blocked the PS1 version to ever get re-released. In the PSP version, it was changed to avoid this but the PSP was released only in Europe and Japan.

Well I never knew that. How odd. Is it true or just some random Internet mumbo jumbo like how Earthbound couldn't make it to VC. I always thought it had to do with the ending song when the credits play.

Edit:

Yea maybe that is it. After some digging they seem to have done a color change up to the sprite for the PSP release. How bazaar.

Why don't we love Beyond the Beyond then, hmmm? hmmm?

never touching these again:

Game of Thrones
Dead Nation
Tennis in the Face
Tales from Space Mutant Blobs Attack
Twisted Metal Black
Magic Carpet
Populous
Puzzle Agent

Magic Carpet and Populous are PC games, and run better on PC, just ask in the GOG thread for example :p

TM Black is good if you have a co-op buddy @_@

So, including titles from the Atlus sale and this flash sale, I'm thinking of getting:

Crimson Gem Saga
Growlanser Wayfarer of Time
Mega Man X4
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis 2
Breath of Fire IV
MYST
Dead Head Fred
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Wild Arms 1

Any thoughts?
Kind of funny that Tokyo Jungle is on sale again, since I bought it for more last time and still haven't played a single second of it yet. Oh well, at least I didn't buy Tales From Space at full price a month ago.
Yes to all, get them.

So as I said, my boyfriend bought the game, and he said there was no issue. He saw the message, clicked "Yes" at the "Start game anyway" question. You just have to be sure to create your virtual PS2 memory card before starting the game, and you get the first opportunity to save (you save manually) in a menu that shows up after completing the tutorial and first level.
Thanks. Do you create the virtual card inside the game or before you boot up the game?

Just so you know, the Movie Pack is actually for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Special Editions, a separate game which has been delisted from the store for awhile now.

It's possible that publisher Deep Silver wanted regular WWTBAM and the dlc for another game to be on sale at the same time, but my guess is this was a derpy oversight.
Wow... Holy fuck! Thanks for the heads-up. I definitely would've been fooled, and VERY pissed. I'll be avoiding both titles now. I mainly wanted it for the movie DLC. Without that, fuck it.

Slightly envious of your outlook. I think that the graphics are just... ugh. Again, I wouldn't have such a negative opinion of the game had it just been 2D. Then again, I can't go back to about 95% of the PSX library because of my dislike of it's primitive, low-res 3D.

Are you saying that you don't? ;)

Getting back on topic. I spent a little over 15 bucks:

Back to the Future
Bejeweled 3
Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazzard
Galaga Legions
Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear
Pac Man CE
Payday The Heist
Sacred Citadel
Sam and Max
Tales of Monkey Island
Tokyo Clash
Zeno Clash 2

And on PSX:

Breath of Fire 4
Klonoa
Mega Man X4
Mega Man X5

Got 4.71 left. Anything else?

After grabbing Mega Man X4 just because (I already own a physical copy), I came back and grabbed Rock of Ages, Zeno Clash II, and the MK Collection (already have on PC). This left my wallet at $14.95, so I'm pretty sure I'll regret this the next time I buy a $15 game.

I played it for the first time a few years ago, so it has nothing to do with nostalgia for me. It's a great game.

Holy shit is the MK Arcade Collection bad. I mean, I can't believe they thought it was OK to release the game in that state.

Image quality is awful - none of the filters look good leaving the game looking either blurry or just bizarre.

Performance wise, things are worse as they disabled v-sync meaning that you get tearing at all times. I realize the arcade games ran at a slightly different timing (not 60 Hz but close) but this is not the way to go about solving that issue.

I mainly picked up a bunch of co-op games that I could play with my girlfriend. Several of the high profile titles I own already, so my choices were limited. Here's my haul:

Mega Man X4
Mega Man X5
Zeno Clash 2
Sacred Citadel
Narco Terror
RIPD
The Expendables
Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection

Got X4 and X5. Still got the original disc and since they're on sale, why not. Forgot I bought Dino Crisis 1 and 2 from a previous sale or else would have gotten those too.

Filters: Arcade
Display: Stretch
TV Picture Size: 4:3 or Screen Fit

It looks fine to me and I haven't noticed any screen tearing, at least not in the first two games.

For some reason I am getting an error when trying to check out, says to try again later anyone else get that? Edit: Scratch that, dumb reason, I fixed it.

Also, Sony should fund a new Wild Arms game.
Getting flashbacks to reading forum threads doing PC game troubleshooting. "Anyone else have this problem? edit: nvm, fixed it :^)"

Maybe I'll just contact customer support.

edit: it was outdated credit card information. Though I don't know why the hell it's still on their file, I thought I deleted that info.

Is Dead Nation cross-buy between PS3/Vita?

I primarily want it for Vita, but not sure if this is one of those cases where if I buy the PS3 version I would also get the Vita version.

Yes, both the main game and DLC are Cross-Buy.

You'll need a dedicated memory card for those games/account and to be okay with reformatting your system when you want to change accounts.

It's.... convoluted.
Eeuuuuugh. I knew about the account switching method but I had some hope there might have been a workaround for PS one games for some reason. The whole Vita account system sucks.

Oh well, Klonoa and BoF IV have been bought anyway, I'll play them on my PS3. Cheers!

Then why isn't the PSP ver. on US PSN?

Most likely because the PSP sold better in Europe.

There was no simultaneous digital+physical release like there is now with PS4 and Vita. I believe you need re-certification to release a PSP digital release and Capcom US doesn't want to bother with it.

A lot of good games were released on PSP only in Europe like Tales of Eternia.

Then why isn't the PSP ver. on US PSN?
SCEA have some policies about PSP games not being straight ports (similar to the no 2d games policy they had on PS2) but need arbitrary amounts of new features* and the PSP version doesn't have new features so no US release is possible.

*-Many people bring up things like the Powerstone collection as examples of accepted straight ports.

Final Haul - $5.51
Twisted Metal: Black
Mad Riders
echochrome
Katamari Damacy
Home
Klonoa®: Door to Phantomile

Already finished Home, just a couple of trophies left. Hopefully I enjoy the rest.

Magic Carpet runs much better on PS1.

It is a sad truth, but nevertheless, the PC version doesn't have a consistent speed. It'll run too fast when the renderer is pumping out frames like nobody's business and too slow when it's struggling. They didn't fix that until Magic Carpet 2, which is buggy in its own right.

Bought:

Katamari Damacy
Klonoa®: Door to Phantomile
Mortal Kombat Arcade kollection
Tales of Monkey Island
SMT Nocturne (which wasn't part of the flash sale)

MK doesn't look that good, but I don't really give a fuck for less than a dollar. :p The price is right for playing old school games full of cheese lol.

tried to make a couple last minute purchases and getting an error during checkout so I guess the sale is in the process of ending :(

I got eight games in my cart around noon and then the maintenance started so I didn't get any. Oh well, won't be terribly upset if I miss out since I wasn't planning to get any of these had they not been under a dollar in this sale.
