The 'this week' rumor came from a different source that's kinda unknown.

I kinda do and kinda don't.

The game hasn't aged well, and it's certainly due for some quality of life improvements and visual updates, but the modding community is so mature and expansive, and I'm certain this won't be anywhere near as moddable if it really is a UE5 title.
 
If it's not real it would be great for bethesda to at least say.

I'm not personally holding out hope though since it's been rumoured since January and it's always been false

It hasn't been false has it? It's been rumored since the beginning I thought to be toward mid-year for release? Wasn't it also on that leaked Bethesda sheet from last year?

the rumour in January was it was releasing in January/Feb so yeah I'd say that was false and it's been the same rumour since lol

I'm just not holding out hope.
 
It's just Elder Scrolls Online since that announcement says online at the top. So I guess another big DLC even thought they said no more big dlcs awhile ago but I guess they changed their mind.

So far NateTheHate seems to be most accurate with his past leaks, but I try to keep my expectations at check either way. Ones I don't believe at all is this Detective Seeds guy and ex1stasis

Yeah Obivion Remake was never real, it's way too much work unless it's by Bethesda themselves and they'll rather focus on sequels. And even if they were doing it than they would be generating hype long before the game was ever released.

I do think it is real, but I don't think it's a complete remake from a ground up. There was just too many breadcrumbs about it like it being listed on MS vs FTC court case a few years back, appearing on LinkedIn, some very specific leaks attaching it to dev (Virtuos), etc. I just don't believe majority of leakers who in my opinion are just jumping at the bandwagon, throw shit at the wall and making it up in hope some of it will stick. These leaks should never gain as much attention as they tend to
 
I still think it's probably real (monetize the IP because es6 is waaaay out).

Having it drop after a ESO event doesn't seem impossible but I think it was a bit of a stretch.

Microsoft would never shadow drop a complete remake of Oblivion. It will most likely be similar in quality to the recent remake of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. A nice graphics boost with a few tweaks to gameplay. Expecting anything more is setting yourself up for failure

There is zero chance it is not real. Microsoft would 100% "leak" info to one of the dozen or so Xbox insiders they constantly leak to if it weren't real

100% stretch as they usually separate themselves from the main Bethesda dev's games. They caught the blowback of something they had no part in and also probably knew next to nothing about.

However, this isn't the first time the ESO team has been put in an awkward position or thrown under the bus, so I'm hoping they'll just come out of this confused and maybe having a laugh about it later.

From the fcc docs I think the project is real. If it does show up soon everyone will forget about this incident I think. But yeah the "leak" culture is getting out of hand I think. People being upset about things that were never even announced it crazy.

I think there is a difference between believing the fact that a project itself is real based on some credible evidence from the past, and believing it based on what some dumbass on twitter is saying about it shadowdropping and revealing multiple fake dates that were never real.

There are like 5 people in the industry that are credible insiders. I dont believe anybody beyond that. NatetheHate is one of those five and he said it would be announced and released in April, possibly being shadowdropped. It doesn't mean it will 100% happen, but it makes me believe it will
