Even the DX version isn't that expensive. But Nendoroids on the whole are getting a bit steep.

So apparently my Korra charged from Rightstuf. I had no idea ahe was already out! They charged me for my Sora and Shiro, but I was surprised to see the other charge for Korra. Then again, I don't think I ever notified myself on her release date :x
Yes, you can combine them. It'll give you that option.
Sometimes there are delays and it's impossible for them to ship it together. They will send you an invoice for the items that are in-stock for that month, though.
You can only combine them if they release in the same month. If one of them is delayed the order will be automatically split back.

Hlj is a slightly better option in that case due to their private warehouse feature. They also have easier cancellation policies.
