They said something about making every environment recognizable and different from the whole "middle earth fantasy" thing but these dont look very interesting.

So many jaggies.

And it's clear that they're still in damage control mode, what with the semi-zoomed out shot.

Why do people release shots of something that clearly looks bad?! I'm sure the final product will be fine - it'd be pretty unlikely for it to look WORSE than the first, but still... Yuck.

Oh, also one last dig: I've been thinking it for a while, but these shots confirm it: The character design for DA2 sucks.

And you can't even hide it with different armor.

Ehh...Dragon Age 1 wasn't really a looker, but why does this look worse? I mean that second battle screen just looks horrible. This comes out in like March right?

Just curious...would people be okay with lesser graphics if the game played at 60 fps?

I've never been one of those who worship at the altar of 60 FPS, so I'd rather have a better looking game at 30 FPS.

I think it looks good. As in, it looks like a game that I will enjoy very much and get a lot of time out of. Graphics aside, I just really like the style of these kinds of games.

It's an RPG that, well, used to be somewhat tactical. It's not a FPS or combo-heavy action game that requires a high fram rate.

For this type of game?

Not really.

Character-based action game where every reaction counts? Yes.

How dare they take a screenshot that's not over the shoulder.

Those nefarious fiends. They're trying to trick us all!

Graphics+UI makes it look like an iphone app.
Kind of scary how dead-on this is.

I don't remember that quote but yeah a ruins, a dungeon, and a palace are not the environments to show off if you want to make that a selling point.

At the very least they look more memorable than the original Dragon Age. So that's one of their goals accomplished.

The previews themselves all say basically the same thing: "Everyone on the internet is wrong, the game itself looks and plays perfectly fine and is better than DA:O."

Can you guys find a bigger picture of this

its on the DA2 wikia and i dont think i have ever seen it before (as in full sized)

We were promised by Greg that the graphics would be greatly improved for DA2.

So far I haven't seen anything to indicate this to be true.
