He never was. I still can't believe Philadelphia fans ran McNabb out of town. Vick was amazingly lucky the season he stole the starting job, and now that there are expectations his true colors are shown. HE NEVER WAS a good QB period. I'm real glad the Eagles are shitting the fan, since McNabb was my favorite player, and he deserved much better from such a shitty organization and fanbase.
Fans didn't run him out of town.
True tons of fans hated him and wanted him out of town but they had no say in the matter. It was purely a money decision and mostly from Banner and Roseman. Reid, from all accounts, didn't want him gone.
They had McNabb, Kolb, and Vick all under contract with a year left. They tried trading Vick the same off season they traded McNabb. No one wanted him. They brought him back. They didn't want to pay McNabb any of the salary he would command. They had Kolb for cheap and thought he would at least as well. He didn't.
Kolb was terrible and in the end they ended up with what they had before anyway...an athletic QB with a huge arm, trouble with accuracy, and on the wrong side of 30. I don't see how any of this Vick's fault. Reid actually brought him on board to be his trick gadget play type of guy sort of how Tebow is supposed to used with the Jets. Vick stepped in and immediately out played Kolb.
