i'm SO buying this...
That would be outstanding, a virtual console box.I would like a estore to grow the collection!
Now that my hype has settled a touch, I'm wondering about this too. Since it sounds like the VC functionality is based on Wii U (given the noted suspend points) and not Wii, I'm wondering if it uses the Wii U VC emulator. It probably does, in which case given the disappointing reviews NES emulation has gotten on Wii U, esp. in terms of game darkness (though I know that's fixable with TV settings as I understand it), I would hope it looks better than Wii U NES VC reportedly does.

I wonder if NX will have the name based on NES, the timing seems too convenient.
Yes.Are those standard Wii controller ports?
And if that's the case, I wonder if I can buy a Classic Controller to use with my Wii? Would be a nice accompaniment to the SNES one I own.
The new 3ds snes and Wii u gba emulation are much much better though so I think they have learned and hopefully put some advancements into this box.
Pray to God that m2 is involved in this project. I would squeal like a little girl getting a pony.

I wouldn't be surprised if this system reused Wii mini internals, similarly to how the PS TV reused unsold Vita 1000 chips.
Also, I wonder how long it will take until this is cracked open and "custom" games are added to the list![]()
EU box art is a little different from the US one:

This bit is interesting:
" The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System comes packaged with an HDMI cable, a USB cable for powering the system*, and one Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller.
*Note that an AC adapter for the USB cable is required to play the system but is not included in the packaging."
YES.
So...we can potentially use the controller to play Wii/Wii U NES VC games?
When connected to a Wii Remote controller, the NES Classic Controller can also be used to play Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii system.
Wait. What. You can't plug it in out of the box. No plug??! :|
