Nintendo Downloads - January 2014

So Wii Fit plus was £20. Wii Fit U is £30 but the pedometer bundle in stores i, I guess £40 (could be £50 though).
I see NOE learned a lot from the Wind Waker HD price strategy.

last MH sale was better 30 for wiiu version and 20 for 3ds. I already own mh3u on 3ds but wanting to double dip at 20. looks like i have to wait a bit longer.
It reminds that some eShop games that go on sale a lot have had a price creep in the US. Anyway, weren't those better deals like 2 day events while this is a full week.

Giana Sisters for me, I've wanted it for ages but waited for a 'decent price'.

The others I've already got or don't want.

I know we go round and round on this every week but honestly, how f**king hard can it be to get GBA or N64 stuff working on the Wii U? I just don't understand how the Wii was fine enough but Wii U takes forever.

Its like they fired their VC team or something and then it was left to one person and he's like uhh you know I'm just the guy that cleans the windows right?

Why don't they hire some expert digital release guys like Sega did and their whole life could be devoted to getting that good shit out each week, at least then we could have less things to bitch about.

They obviously want maximum profits, and that's not happening with that small user base.

If we're going down that route, I would like all the noteworthy WiiWare games ported to 3DS and Wii U. Like Castelvania The Adventure ReBirth, Blaster Master Overdrive, the Mega Man games, La Mulana, Tomena Sanner, etc...

Speaking of Wiiware, I want a sequel to My Life As A King. The Dark Lord game was a completely different thing.

I'm still shocked that they haven't ported those two phones since they were already built with horrible wallet draining mountains of DLC.

Come to think of it, I think MLaaK was the first game I ever bought DLC for. The DLC was new dungeons I couldn't even access at the time because they were too high level as well.

Or they want us to buy the game for the Wii U so they can announce MH4U :p
Or use that money for more mobile games

Since M2's so cozy with 3DS already I'd love Konami to work with them on porting the ReBirth games (Gradius, Castlevania, Contra) and adding more to them (Salamander, Parodius, Twinbee, Quarth, Space Manbow, Goemon, Getsu Fuuma Den, Rocket Knight, Sunset Riders, Metal Gear, Maze of Galious and so on).

I still don't get what Iwata means by that statement. Is he acknowledging that the The Wii U and 3DS virtual console is a joke?

? He's pretty clear in what he says. He acknowledges that they haven't utilized the VC service well so far and they would like to change that. Only problem is that we haven't seen any fruits from that. While it was beyond silly of people to expect a barrage of VC games a week after that statement was made, one would think that over half a year later, we would've seen at least an indication as to what that would mean. Let's hope that changes soon.

Isn't that statement from November or at least around that time? Or did you mean over half a year after the start of the WiiU VC?
From how I understood that statement, they want to give the VC a bigger focus, but I wouldn't expect that to show in any way, until maybe summer. For what it's worth we still didn't get all of those Mega Man games that are supposedly in Nintendo's queue since July.

Oh right, that was November! For some reason I thought this happened in August or so.

I always thought that was related directly to NES remix.

"Enrich our VC lineup" is pretty obviously not related to NES Remix, though.

EU eShop not working for anyone else? Getting an 010-2500 error code when I try to go into categories.

Was gonna get Mario Tennis and maybe Golf + Shantae. Are the GBC versions of Tennis / Golf the ones to get? People seemed pretty excited about the Tennis one a while back.

The GBC version of Mairo Golf is one of the best golf games ever made. The little RPG mode is just adorable and really fun.

Mario Golf isn't available on the EU VC, only Tennis is.

Don't ask me why.

Like everything else, the answer is: because Nintendo, I guess.

"Enrich" as in sales I thought. Here's the whole thing and it happened not too long before NES remix was released:

Iwata said:
While Wii U and Nintendo 3DS already offer Virtual Console software, I feel that we have not been able to take full advantage of our assets yet, so we would like to enrich our Virtual Console lineup. As the ability to digitally offer our products has given us greater flexibility in offering new propositions to our consumers, we should naturally consider these possibilities in the future.

On USA 3DS eShop on the second row for Wii U information, there's a link that takes you to a DDP video. Never saw that before...

Also, when is Namco Museum is coming out...

EDIT: Oof, mean Pacman Museum.

Yeah I noticed. Odd. Got Mario Tennis, played a few matches and it's fun.

I asked this in the 3DS games thread but, if I were to buy one Picross for the 3DS, which one would it be? The old Game Boy one, or one of the e-series?

If you'd also consider DS games, get Picross DS. If not, get one of the e-series, the GB Picross lacks a lot of the conveniences of later versions.

Ah, I see. So, e3 then? Or e first? It seems each new game is mostly "more" with some minigames added in? I wouldn't want to jump straight into the most challenging ones as I haven't played Picross since, well, the GB one.

I only played e1, so someone else has to answer this. I found e1 to be a bit easy, but if you haven't played Picross in a while, it should be okay.

Quick question, if I buy an e-shop card from best buy online, ¿will they send me a code so I can use it rigth away or do they ship a physical card?

Cheers for your input. I grabbed the first one.

Pet peeve: Games that don't have save profiles. At least with downloadable games on the 3DS you can use the SD backup feature to cycle through a set of them.
