$15M at $60 a pop would be ~250K software.

I agree with him, to some extent. It has nothing to do with the controller - two screens is dumb. You can't look at both at the same time. It only works well for a few, limited concepts. Off-screen play is nice, but it's probably not worth it at the high cost, both in R&D and MSRP.
Someone give me a reason to buy a Wii U RIGHT NOW. I can't think of any.
Even the Virtual Boy / Saturn were better, guys.
Yeah, their decision to go multiplatform was totally justified.
Right now? Nothing. It will be worth a purchase in the future with Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, etc.

On the other hand, it's still a gimmick, and with the right marketing, gimmicks can sell. It could still be a selling point if they can hit on one of those limited concepts that grabs people's attention.

All 100+ million of them. This is assuming that there is overlap between PS3 owners and 360 owners. That's only a selling point to a small amount of people that Nintendo is after.
Easy to tell just look at the platforms by the games in the OP.
They are in order.
Wow, Nintendo is not in a good place.
Well, there were 885K other hardware buyers.250k software to 50k hardware would be a fine software result. But even that is unlikely.
Because Platinum Games, son. Also, Nintendo will bring it with their first party titles. The 3DS has proven that.By the time all of those are out the PS4 and 720 will probably be out.
So why would I buy the Wii U over either of those?

I'll ask again but do you really think Lego City will draw in people Mario couldn't? Lego City is going to sell to current audience Wii u already has. There are a shit ton of Lego games out there. Hell the 3DS version will probably draw those kids in to the cheaper system. That's the problem with Wii U right now. There is nothing big to actually bring a lot of people in and stuff like Lego City and Monster Hunter doesn't change that
Is that really true? Didn't Wii U sell 3 million by now?
How amazing would it be if 3ds underperformed too?
I think the Vita has more third party games coming in the next year than the Wii U. It should last. Even if only as a PS4 controller/legacy PSP PSOne player.Nooooo. I don't want the Vita to die.
You obviously haven't played with it a bunch. It is so far from dumb, in fact for my friends and me it is one of the best gaming platforms of all time. The user experience is enhanced so much by the addition of the second screen.
However, I would say that the fact that you don't find this appealing points to one of the major shortcomings of the console: it's freaking hard to market. Making people understand how the gamepad will improve their experience is nigh impossible.
He is going by us numbers most likely. Is that really true? Didn't Wii U sell 3 million by now?
Why can't people just give straight answers?
Bollox, I need some figures to believe this one? WW or just US?

I think E3.Vita better drop that price come 2/20
