That doesn't explain anything. Power hungry and arrogant doesn't make you destroy all creation. It makes you want to rule the world at most. There's nothing there for a supposed Final villains it's really, really bad. It's 2+2=100
This is actually genuinely refreshing too. You'd expect someone with Kata's design to fall into that "too cool for school" anime trope but he's genuinely just a dude trying to keep the family together/defended. Those Katakuri memes from a bit back weren't too far off mark. :lol
I dunno, most of my favourite arcs in One Piece (Arlong, Crocodile, Water 7) where great because of the fights, not the drama or poneglyphs or adventure... I treat these as a bonus.
The arcs that I dislike the most are the ones with 50+ characters that I don't care at all. So Marineford, Dressrosa...
And there's the middle ground for arcs that are innofensive for me, like Skypea, Saobondy, etc... I guess that if it wasn't for the fights I wouldn't even be reading One Piece. It's the hook aspect for me, and seeing it being underdeveloped makes me sad.

He's a surprisingly fun character. Really Oda's ridiculousness of everything and the sincerity of him rather than being a pure trope is what makes it.
I mean thgere's is absolute no way Oda wrote about a baby straight after birth standing up and taking a seat with a straight face. That shit's straight out of a comedy stretch.
The whole he's not your standard undefated fellow really makes the joke land.

Man i'm simply in a state of actual shock from the Metal Max 4 box and images posted in the media create thread. i have never before such a ridiculous level of fanservice for a box art and I've seen some shit. I'm not sure what to say. At leats we had a good OP chapter.

This humors me, as the fights are the bonus for me. Obviously they're important, but the world building and character interactions have always been #1 to me.

I enjoy the fights and even look forward to them with the hype and powers ups.
But i could read vols of OP with just history , world building and character interactions.
It's hard for me to see Luffy winning this fight, but I gotta imagine he'll at-least knock Katakuri on his ass lol.
Such a weird feat too. Impressive, but weird. That's probably half the reason Katakuri is so damn strong. Dude's gotta have legs as strong as tree trunks!

Not enough tears or going out of the way to say that she never normally complements others, but Katakuri is too magnificent to ignore.
Zou managed to be a greatly enjoyable arc without the need of really having fights thanks to it's world building, really strong side characters and one the best twists you can find in a manga.
Problem with whole cake island is oda has been presenting these in counters like cracker, sanji vs luffy, his brothers, judge, pedro vs tamako, brook, daifuku,oven, vinsmokes vs big pirates, candyman action but has drop the ball on every in counter so far thanks to not having any commitment to any off it.
I would rather have none of it then a half ass tease and no no anime can savage this bullshit, oda obviously aware of the lack of action in this arc since he apologize for it in recent interviews half way through the arc.

WB was unfairly gangbanged. Katakuri would be lucky to be given such a dishonerable death to make the point stand out.
From what I remember he did speak on the subject the lack fights a while back.

Back in One Piece Chapter 860 we learn he has such a high level of CoO that he can breifly see into the future
Literally his first appearance they said his observation Haki is so good he can see the future
He killed a potential assassin because he predicted he would attack

He's set them for as allies for this arc.
