It's always cool to see Capcom bring back an old ip, but this gives me hope we'll see the return of Haunting Ground.

E3?While I'm definitely looking forward to this game the trailer was really disappointing. They probably should have shortened this trailer to be a pure teaser and showed the real trailer at E3 cause this trailer wasn't going to bring in any new customers.
I love Onimusha. Unfortunately, this just looks like another indie feudal Japan game in UE. The souls look like floating PNGs with hard keyframes. Onimusha 1-2 were amazing. 3 was absolutely fantastic going through Paris and having different versions of the levels. Playing as 3 different characters. 3 was very engaging. 4 was fun but unfortunately forgettable even after beating it 1-3 times. Onimusha Blade Warriors had all characters that can fight each other like super smash bros including items. The animations are still very good to this day!

After Okami and Onimusha they just announced, I think these 3 are most likely to come back during the PS6 life cycle, not earlier. Lost Planet has a shit ton of potential which not a single game in the series released up until now actually fully realized and if they're smart, they're going to take a long hard look at what BioWare did with Anthem, mechs there and movement system.Capcom Most Wanted Sequels / New Game By Votes

My 15 year old cousin hates fixed camera - a lot of younger gen players do. Not to mention that fixed camera angles prevent you from having kill-cam cutscenes and the like. It's very restrictive and isn't worth the nostalgia nerdgasm that old dogs like you and me will have.they should make a fixed cam mode, RE1 remake prove that analog control work well with fixed cam

but it’s not simple, you have to make the combat and encounters that’s designed around fix camera. It’s like having first person game like Bioshock and trying add 3rd person view but it wouldn’t work because that was designed around first person.i don't say they make game fixed, just make a mode with fixed for whoever want to play with it, just like some game make different color filter for people to try it out

95% of the trailer is cutscenes and close-up camera kills. The game is made with the RE Engine (which is all about realistic graphics) - there was no way this game would have its characters look like something half-cartooney from the PS2 era. And the camera angle is 99.99% going to be identical with DmC 5's.
What exactly looks like an indie game here? The enemies in the trailer look disturbing, like samurais fused with a jellyfish and a cyclops. The engine supports dismemberment like in the classic Onimusha games, the music fits, the action looks over the top but lacks the snarkyness of the DmC IP, and the thing you decided to bitch about was ... the texture of the floating souls?

Sorry, by hardcore I meant 'all about'. There's no sneaking or exploring - just your character slashing as they run through the stage.uhm...no, onimusha not really that hardcore compare with ninja gaiden sigma or tenchu, game was fun because of loveable character, great story, multiple weapon to try out, and critical slash which deal massive damage to enemy or 1 shot them and if you can chain it for multiple enemy it's feel even more awesome, the timing is enough for midcore player to enjoy it, not really intense like sekiro parry
even if you are really bad at critical hit timing you can just bruce force you way through final boss with enough of potion and spam attack, just like resident evil

Haven't played them for 20 years now, but I don't recall half of the stages being optional content. I seem to remember virtually everything in terms of side quests (like the gift system in Onimusha 2) being done as you run through the main game. And backtracking is hardly exploration. For example, about 70% of Symphony of the Night is optional content if you beat the game for the 'bad' ending. Stages which can be ommitted altogether.so... did you not play the first 2 games or something?
they were called Resident-Evil-likes by some for a reason. you have mild exploration in an interconnected map with some mild puzzle elements and backtracking.
the combat was also relatively slow by design, where you had to wait for enemy attacks to do optimal damage and stuff.

How does what's shown suggest it's a Souls Like?That's what the sliver of gameplay they showed in this trailer suggests, unfortunately. So yeah, this will most likely be a "Souls" game with elements of Onimusha incorporated within its mechanics.
It would be nice if Capcom would remaster the other 3 titles already. I know they said that probably won't happen due to the sales of the 1st one. But, the other games are bigger and more expansive than the 1st. So.....I can only hope. The demand is obviously there. And if they really wanna stoke the fire here, especially since Capcom stated they want to revive their dormant IP's, it would be wise for them to do it.Good to see a classic IP return. Enjoyed the originals and think about them periodically (not as often as the Roman Empire, but periodically).
