Phantom Blade 0 Announced | PlayStation Showcase

new gameplay

Man, this looks so.fucking.good - from the art direction, to animations, graphics, sound production AND gameplay...

This is another Stellar blade/Wukong case - everyone thought that they were vaporware/"fake" and yet, look at how good they turned out to be.

Can't wait !

Looks excellent

Chinese games growing just as western gaming is going down the toilet.

I'm expecting a great ps5pro image quality boost which, despite the very early development stage, is the only area this game is lacking. Also likely 2026 title but if they manage to build an entire game to the quality of this demo it's a sure GOTY contender.

Very promising combat, but when are Devs going to give us all difficulty modes from the start - extreme seems way more fun to me.

It's fine to make things accessible for a wider audience but what about players who love the genre and like a challenge.

Did they said that extreme mode is locked for the first run?

I hate this shit.

C'mon guys, this ain't a problem, in fact, I'd argue that that it adds to the replay value.

I always play my games on hard and IF the game is replayable, I fire up the next difficulty mode for a new run.

Out of all the problems this game could have, difficulty isn't one of them IMO, specifically, I really hope that the combat feels as good as it looks in the videos (i.e, proper hit stun, good joy pad vibration for each hit etc etc).

I have the feeling that the game will be a banger

Cheers

It is definitely a problem, a big problem is you are like me that correlate the pleasure of exploration\finding stuff and sense of progression to how hard a game is (if a game is easy i'm not gonna be as excited to find a new cool weapon or unlock a new skill or just getting better because i was just smashing the game even before that), so you are not just taking away challenge from me, you are also weakening 2 fundamentals aspects of videogames.

Most people barely complete games, let alone playing them multiple times, and the first run is the most special run for reasons that i don't need to explain to another gamer, devs need to give gamers the choice of how much challenge they want in the first, most significant and probably only run they are ever gonna do, i give 2 fucks about replayability if this make the first run worse, because 99% of times it's the only run i do.

So hard disagree, i hate any dev that does this shit, it makes no sense for the majority of people who play games once.

I see no reason why they shouldn't release this demo. It's not some cobbled together code you sometimes see on early previews, but an actual polished vertical slice

A lot of that is based on expectations.

If a Western game released with the technical issues that Wukong did, it probably wouldn't get a pass.

I would also love to see how well Wukong sold in the West compared to say Hogwarts Legacy or Elden Ring.

Some Jedi Survivor PS5 scores at launch:

VGC: 100
CGM: 100
Game Informer: 93
Destructoid: 90
God Is A Geek: 90
IGN: 90
Push square: 90

I wrote this about Jedi Survivor after getting the plat trophy which was *2 months* after release, couple of patches later:

I got the plat trophy back when this had the *worst* performance I've seen in years (PS5). Frame drops, frame pacing, stuttering, texture pop-in, hard crashes, you name it. Yet I played it long and thoroughly enough to get the plat trophy because the game is *fantastic*. If the issues have truly been fixed then I'd say it's a must-buy 👌

Wukong didn't have a *fraction* of the technical issues and that's AT LAUNCH, I got the plat trophies for both games and can speak on it with actual knowledge, you're simply wrong on this one. Again, this is PS5, I can't speak on PC.

Not that user review scores are necessarily valid, but you can see a much lower score there and Jedi Survivor didn't sell nearly as well.

If we're talking about user scores sure. As for sales clearly the Chinese market did a lot of heavy lifting, doesn't it mean it isn't deserving of it's success and I doubt we'll ever know what the actual split is.

What technical issues?

The game had some ue stutter but it was the most unintrusive ue stutter i ever had in a game, and during combat it was mostly perfect.

Like someone else said, the game was 10x times more polished than your average ubisoft game.

Was the console version so far away from the pc version?
